Celebrating Community Spirit: Mulmur's 2026 Senior of the Year

Council is proud to recognize David Jazwinski as Mulmur's 2026 Senior of the Year. Dave is one of the volunteer community leaders behind the development and operation of the outdoor rink at Thomson Trail Park in Mansfield.

Dave is passionate about providing a community space that can be enjoyed by all ages in the winter months. He has implemented countless improvements in the initial set-up and ongoing maintenance of the outdoor rink. Whether it is working on the rink liner placement during start-up, after hours flooding using his custom-made flooding tool or using his own snow blower to clear on-ice snow accumulation, he is constantly volunteering his support. Dave has been on the outdoor rink committee since the rink's first season and has advocated for the reuse of materials from the NDCC, end board enhancements and netting. Dave has spent upwards of 50 days per winter maintaining the ice for the local community and the visitors from neighbouring communities to enjoy.

His contribution to community building through sports and fitness is incredible. Thank you Dave, and thank you to the Ice Rink Committee and Volunteers for all that you do to make our community better.

Terra Nova Multi-Use Recreational Pad

At the June 3, 2026 Council Meeting, Council received and considered a range of resident feedback and comments regarding the Multi-Use Recreational Pad that is being generously donated to the Municipal Office lands in Terra Nova.

The proposed recreational development features a walking path, and one recreation pad that could be used as a tennis court, basketball court, or pickleball court. Council appreciates the time and effort residents took to share their perspectives and recognizes the importance of open dialogue as projects like this move forward.

Following discussion, Council held a recorded vote and directed staff to continue working collaboratively with contractors and residents to address the concerns raised, including considerations related to buffering, location, and other potential impacts to ensure that the project evolve in a way that supports both recreational opportunities and the well-being of neighbouring residents.

For residents interested in further commenting on the design, please call or email the office at 705-466-3341 | info@mulmur.ca

Mansfield Women's Institute Celebrates its 80th Anniversary

Congratulations to the Mansfield Women's Institute, celebrating their 80th Anniversary at the Dufferin Peel District Meeting in Horning's Mills on May 21, 2026.

The history of their accomplishments is endless, but over the last 10 years, they have helped influence the installation of traffic lights in Mansfield, they organize the annual Remembrance Day ceremonies, and have donated $1,000.00 to the North Dufferin Community Centre, through funds raised in a yard sale. Thank you for all that you do, and congratulations on 80 years!

Green Tip - Choose Biking

Reduce your carbon footprint, choose biking whenever you can!

Swapping short car trips for a bike ride is one of the simplest ways to lower your environmental impact. Transportation is a major source of greenhouse gas emissions and even small changes, like biking to nearby destinations, can make a meaningful difference over time. By choosing to bike instead of drive, you help cut emission, reduce air pollution, and support cleaner, healthier communities.

Biking isn't just good for the planet, its great for you too! It's an easy way to incorporate physical activity into you daily routine, boosting your cardiovascular health, improving mood, and increasing overall energy levels. Plus, it can save you money on fuel and parking while often getting you to your destination just as quickly.

Next time you're heading out, consider leaving the car behind. for quick errands, commute segments, or weekend outings, hop on your bike or take a walk instead. You can even make it more fun by inviting friends, family, or coworkers to join you.
