The Importance of Punctuation & Pause

Do you ever get so busy doing "the work" you forget to come up for air? As a leader, a role model, a parent, teacher, student, we set the example. Our bodies support us, as the system that is both impressionable and an impression/expression of our beliefs and our experiences.

Practicing the Inhale/Exhale as we mindfully move throughout our days is essential for clearer thinking, stress reduction, injury prevention, mood, and other positive outcomes. As we are swimming along, sometimes we keep our head under water for hours, days, weeks, months, or years at a time! It can feel empowering, or sometimes even necessary, but when do we receive the essential rest?

No, we are not offering Hot Yoga at The Shift. Sometimes we listen only to respond, or read through an article and already guess what it's about by its title. Other times we use language as a means of navigating a complex world of thought, emotion, actions and inaction.

Do we question? Do we declare? Do we say it with excitement? Do we give stream-of-consciousness?

When do we practice punctuation and pause?

Between poses in class? In our breathing? Between life changes or big decisions? When we are called upon to respond? At home? At work? In traffic? In nature? On an errand? When we wake? Before we rest? While we observe a moment of beauty? In a kiss? When we jump out of the plane?

Do we move on auto-pilot? Do we react, or do we discern?

Just as in writing, "t he main reasons to use  pauses  are for variety, understanding, and emphasis. A pause  is a form of oral punctuation that can help your audience reflect on what you just said. ... When using a  pause  for emphasis, you want to focus audience attention on your most  important  pieces of information."

Let's pause, reflect, understand and emphasize what's most important in our lives, today and always.

Yours in bliss, Heather

Making changes in your life can be a challenge, but I believe it must begin with a specific intention, which is where our therapeutic journey begins.

I utilize: Hypnotherapy, Tapping, Reiki, and Life-Force Movement which can help move energy so that blocked emotions can be released and allows for personal growth, happiness and achievement of life goals! My role is to support you in your search for clarity, growth and change, and I look forward to becoming a partner in your search for solutions and personal growth.
