The second annual World Photography Day Photo Contest is now open for submissions. The contest will run through August 8, with winners being announced on World Photography Day (August 18). Judges are looking for images that represent a ‘favorite place or activity in Westshore’. Submissions must be taken within Westshore boundaries. Entrants may submit up to 5 images. National Bike Month Celebration + BFB Awards

On May 23, Westshore Alliance celebrated National Bike Month with Walk Bike Tampa and other transportation advocacy groups! Six Westshore businesses were recognized for their Spring 2025 Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) status – 3 were awarded a Silver status (AtkinsRéalis, McKibbon Hospitality, TPA) and the other 3 renewed their Bronze status (Homewood Suites Westshore, Hilton Garden Inn Westshore, Hampton Inn & Suites Westshore). Bicycle + Pedestrian Counts on West Shore Boulevard

Last month, we conducted a round of bicycle and pedestrian counts over 48 hours at three intersections along West Shore Boulevard (Laurel Street, Cypress Street, Kennedy Boulevard). The data collected showed high levels of pedestrian activity throughout the day and night, with peaks in the mid-morning and early afternoon. Join our transportation committee to learn more about how these findings can be used to advance future projects.

We continue to wrap more traffic signal boxes

The second round of signal box wrappings is almost complete! While traveling through Westshore, you will find more than 20 traffic signal boxes wrapped in unique designs, with the newest designs showcasing events at Raymond James and Steinbrenner Field like baseball and football games, concerts, and tailgating! The box pictured here is at the intersection of Spruce Street and Dale Mabry Hwy.
