President's Note

Hello friends,

I am sure you will agree that this has been a distressing year and will go down in the history books. The year is already half gone and we all pray the second half will be better. Unfortunately, we have to announce that our Fall Art Show will not happen. In the past we have had over 800 people attend, and it will be too uncomfortable to put everyone through all this uncertainty. The Fitchburg Art Studios is also cancelled, so we will not be able to participate in that either.

But we have created other ways to get your art work out there. We have just launched our first virtual gallery tour! I hope you will enjoy it. You will find link to it on our website in the top menu bar; just look for "Virtual Tour" at We will be updating it on a monthly basis. Spread the word to your friends and galleries, and ask other websites to create a link to help promote our Gallery Tour. This may become the new norm and another method to promote our art work.

We have also started an online Silent Auction on our Facebook page. Check weekly to bid on art items that you want.

So, let's all hope for the best and maybe we can open our gallery in September or October, and combine our "Theme" paintings and "Small Works" together till we close for Christmas. That is our plan.

There is some work that needs to be done at the gallery. We bought paint to touch up the floor and the walls of the gallery. And a few spots on the outside need to be scraped and repainted. So, if you want to just hang out at the gallery just give me a holler.

Great news! We were granted funds from the Robinson Broadhurst Foundation to put a new roof on the gallery! So, while the gallery is closed, we will be having a new roof put on. Thank You Robinson Broadhurst for supporting us artists!

Keep Safe and Keep Creating Art!

Weekly online Facebook Silent Auctions now through June 26 at 8:00pm

Let us hope for the best and maybe we can open our gallery in September or October and combine our "Theme" paintings and "Small Works" together till we close for Christmas. That is our plan.
Silent Art Auction

GALA Fall Art Show for September has been cancelled due to Covid-19.

Auctions will be controlled on GALA's Facebook page, so you will need a Facebook account to be able to bid on the art items.

Each auction will have 20 start items and will run for two weeks. Every two weeks we will start a new auction with different items. You may bid as many times as you like if someone outbids you.

If you would like to enter your work in the next auction, call to make an appointment to bring your artwork to the gallery and register. Only one artist member allowed into the gallery at a time.
  1. You must be a current member to enter artwork. You may register to be a member on our website.
  2. No fee to enter. You may enter up to five pieces of artwork.
  3. For each item, include the following information: name, email address, phone, title, media, size, and starting bid (you want to sell your artwork, so set a realistic starting bid). (Possible example: Starting bid $100. May only have one bidder for $105, You will receive $105 minus 25% to GALA. Or the winning bidder could outbid everyone for $200. You will receive $200 minus 25%. Please be aware that anything could happen in an auction.)
  4. GALA receives 25% commissions on all sold artwork.

49th Annual MWCC Student Art Exhibition
Mount Wachusett Community College, Gardner, MA

Student work from foundation and advanced art courses

View the online exhibition

Each spring MWCC hosts an Exhibition of Student Art Work from the foundation and advanced art courses.

The art faculty are so proud of all of the student work in this exhibit and the students' success with remote distance learning; overcoming many challenges and obstacles this semester. Students also photographed their work, with whatever resources available, to make this exhibit possible. Due to the pandemic, the clay work was unable to be fired or glazed, but it is still included in the exhibit. Many of the students' paintings and drawings that are still hanging in the upper gallery at the college, would  have  also been included in this exhibit.
