Coming Soon: eLearning Module

This year's eLearning Module is coming very soon! Keep an eye on your inbox this week to know when it's available.

This year's module will be a national module on Advancing Culture, Equity and Justice in Occupational Therapy Practice.

Through this module, OTs can expect to:

  • Better understand Domain C of the Competencies for Occupational Therapists in Canada and important concepts related to culture, equity, and justice in occupational therapy practice.

  • Gain insight into the vast diversity across Canada's population and how this diversity relates to health equity.

  • Understand and be able to apply individual and collective strategies for culturally safer and equitable practice to real life occupational therapy situations.

Updated Measles Epidemiological Summary

Stay up to date on what health professionals need to know

Ongoing measles transmission in Ontario is impacting multiple public health units.

Occupational therapists should continue to stay informed about public health advice and guidance, incorporate any public health issued protocols, and complete their point of care risk assessment as outlined in the Standard for Infection Prevention and Control.

You can find links to more information, resources and guidance on our website.

If you need support, you can reach out to your local Public Health Unit.

You can also contact our Practice team by email at practice@coto.org or by calling 416-214-1177 x240.

Guidance Reminder: Remote (Virtual) Services

View the Remote (Virtual) Services guidance

Summer has arrived, and some clients may be planning to travel. Can occupational therapists provide remote (virtual) services to clients who are located outside of Ontario?

Occupational therapists are encouraged to contact the regulatory authority in the other region, because other provinces or countries may have different requirements for providing remote services. Similarly, occupational therapists who want to provide remote services while they themselves are located outside of Ontario also need to contact the regulator in that region and comply with any local requirements.

More information about providing remote (virtual) services across jurisdictions can be found here: Providing Remote (Virtual) Services Across Jurisdictions.
