PresidentPresident's Note
June is here and it is the time to celebrate under the sun with family! We celebrate the graduations and weddings and Father's Day and the last day of school.  We celebrate the new chapters of our lives.  We celebrate those who are turning the page to start something new.  Spring is a time of new growth and the Summer heat makes it seem as if all things are possible. We have all waited this year with great anticipation for these warmer days that still seem a bit elusive. Now it's time to slow down a bit and enjoy all of the wonderful summer activities that Minnesota has to offer.

Last month we had our Spring Conference and Annual Business Meeting. What a lovely afternoon filled with wonderful colleagues, great food and of course an awesome speaker.  I would like to thank those who have worked on the board in all capacities over the past year and welcome our new board members who are joining us for the next two years.  As I have sat on the board over the past several years, I am constantly amazed at the level of dedication there is to our organization by our Board. I am humbled to have been selected as the President and am looking forward to serving in this role in the upcoming year. I look forward to working with the Board and Membership to continue the great tradition MASWA has of providing educational and networking opportunities for those who serve seniors in the Minneapolis area.

I hope to see many of you at our Joint Public Policy meeting and at the Summer Social.

Take care for now!
