Pray for good summer breaks for ministry leaders. For many, the summer pace changes enough that they can catch a little well deserved and needed family time. Pray for MNA staff in doing the same.
Please prayerfully consider a contribution toward the work of MNA, as we serve those who labor at the front lines of ministry.
Thank you for your prayers and gifts to Mission to North American as we share the love of God in the gospel of Jesus Christ through church planting, church renewal, and missional partnerships across the United States and Canada. Your generosity has been used by Jesus to further our many avenues of ministry.
MNA deducts no service fees from gifts designated to specific projects or designated to MNA staff members. The administrative cost of this service is supported by undesignated gifts to MNA, or gifts to the
MNA General Fund)
. Please consider
giving to the General Fund
, so that MNA may continue to make 100% of designated gifts available to their intended recipients.

Pressing On: Parakaleo at General Assembly
How do you press on for God’s glory when you feel overwhelmed? How do you endure? Paul writes that during his ministry in Asia, he and his colleagues were under so much pressure that they
”despaired of life itself.” (2 Cor 1:8)
Parakaleo can help! This year’s General Assembly theme is “Press on for God’s Glory,” and we can help you do that in several ways: our workshop, booth activities, and booth talks.
Parakaleo’s workshop, "Help Her… Help Me… Help My Heart!“ is an opportunity for women learn to coach their own hearts with Biblical, visual, teachable gospel tools. It will be led by Meaghan May and Maria Garriott, and will take place on Wednesday, June 26 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Stop by our booth at General Assembly to create a “Speak Truth to Struggle Card” for yourself, your spouse, friend, or child. We’ll have all the necessary craft supplies for this easy, encouraging way to take the gospel to your own heart.
Abby Hutto, author of the newly released
God For Us, will give a booth talk on Wednesday at 3 pm. Abby is a Parakaleo trainer and the Director of Spiritual Formation at Story Presbyterian Church, a new church in Westerville, Ohio. Abby will speak on “God For Us: Pressing On In Understanding the Father’s Heart.”
On Thursday at 3:00 at the booth, hear Parakaleo trainers explain how an “arsenal of truth and beauty” can help us press on in the gospel. Participants are invited to bring an item from their arsenal to share.
Finally, you can enter a raffle to win ½ off our October Basic Training retreat in Orlando (worth $600!). Stop by the booth and record a 1-minute video telling us how fixing your eyes on Christ helps you press on in ministry. (Men, you can submit your wife’s name so
she gets to go to Parakleo training
!)
See you at the booth! Remember, Parakaleo is Here for Her! Learn more about Parakaleo at

Lunch with MNA Refugee and Immigrant Ministry at General Assembly
Are you a Teaching Elder or Ruling Elder of a church that is actively serving refugees, immigrants or other internationals? If you'll be at General Assembly, please consider attending a free networking luncheon on
Thursday, June 27, hosted by Mission to North America Refugee and Immigrant Ministry.
This annual gathering, now in its fifth year, is a rare opportunity to gain and share insights and fresh ideas for this type of ministry, which is all the more crucial now that one out of every four persons in the US (and one in three in Canada) is either an immigrant or a minor citizen child born to immigrants. Email Pat Hatch -
[email protected] to reserve your place, and mark it on your schedule now so that you can avoid conflicting commitments.

Church Websites: Utilizing Technology to Reach Families with Disabilities
Tuesday, June 4, 2019
12 pm ET | 11 am CT | 10 am MT | 9 am PT
Teacher: Ashley Belknap, Director of Engaging Disability With The Gospel
Years ago, families drove by churches and talked to friends when considering a new church. In 2019, the first place that families living with disability go for information about your church is the church’s website. Your church’s website is an invaluable tool for communicating that you are intentionally trying to reach, enfold, and disciples people with disabilities of all ages—kids, teens, and adults.

Love and Power
Book Released by Chuck Garriott
Chuck Garriott, MNA Ministry to State Director, released the book
Love and Power: Glimpses of the Gospel for Those Addicted to Self

After sixteen years living in our nation’s capital, Garriott has had abundant opportunity to witness firsthand the human tendency toward self-focus. In
Love and Power,
he reflects on God’s grace and kindness in the midst of persistent narcissism and selfishness--not only in those who are overtly self-promoting on your TV screen, but in all of us.
The book’s website,
loveandpowerbook.com
includes a blog, reviews and discussion questions for using the book in small group gatherings. Love and Power is available for purchase on
Amazon
, or through the website.
This book will also be available for purchase at General Assembly - just drop by the CDM Bookstore in the exhibit hall.

Equipping for the Gospel Ministry in the Local Church
This motto has always been the vision of LAMP Seminary. LAMP Seminary believes that the best place to train pastors is in the local church. Al Mohler, who leads one of the leading evangelical seminaries in America, has this to say:
I emphatically believe that the best and most proper place for education and preparation of pastors is in the local church. We should be ashamed that churches fail miserably in their responsibility to train future pastors. Established pastors should be ashamed if they are not pouring themselves into the lives of young men whom God has called into the teaching and leadership ministry of the church.
Currently LAMP Seminary has over 40 Learning Sites throughout the county where established pastors are training future pastors. We thank God for their commitment and diligence to fulfill the Apostle Paul’s admonition to the young Pastor Timothy:
The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. (2 Timothy 2.2)
Thanks to all of LAMP’s Coordinators, Facilitators, and Mentors! Learn more about LAMP Seminary at

The PCA Unity Fund Tuition Subsidy Application Deadline is June 30
Out of 4,882 Teaching Elders in the PCA, only 1% are African American, .8% Hispanic American, and 10% Korean/Korean American.
The PCA Unity Fund aims to increase these numbers through training, mentoring and developing minority leadership in the PCA, primarily through providing tuition subsidies to support training at reformed institutions.
Because of the PCA’s Unity Fund, 41 seminary tuition subsidy recipients are currently getting financial and mentoring help to become Teaching Elders.
If you would like to apply for a subsidy, visit
this page
for information and application details. The deadline to apply is June 30.

MNA Disaster Response Announces the Winners of the MNA DR Award Trailers
We are excited to announce the winners of the 2019 MNA First Responder Trailer Partnership Program. Typically MNA DR awards one new trailer to the church or presbytery that submits the best proposal. This year it was super-difficult to choose just one winner because the top four proposals were effectively a tie! Therefore, MNA decided to award
four
trailers this year, a first for us. I am very thankful for the geographical diversity of the winners, and the quality of the proposals. One of our stated goals in the RFP was to increase the geographical footprint of our coverage area. I am thankful that the Lord answered our prayers in a powerful way.
Congratulations winners! We look forward to working with you going forward!!

LDR Weekend
August 30-September 1, Chattanooga TN.
Being an African American member of a majority culture church comes with a unique set of challenges. It’s hard to be the only one and be the representative voice for diversity. It’s challenging to desire authentic relationships, yet feel isolated and misunderstood. We need to be honest about our reality and seek solutions that help us bear fruit where God has placed us. Yet God’s solutions tend to be radically different from our own.
Come join us for a time of sound teaching, vibrant worship and rich fellowship. Return home overflowing with hope and confidence rooted in Jesus Christ.

Bent Tree Gathering
October 7-11, Allenspark CO.
This gathering is for pastors who desire to sharpen and hone their gifts as servant leaders. God has entrusted each of us with many gifts, but how and when we use our gifts is a critical wisdom issue in ministry. Leadership in the local church is developed through brokenness and failure. Hence, the words of Jesus "Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves." There will be shared case studies in groups to that end.

Considering Church Planting?
|
|
“I’m leaving feeling that this is one of the best things I’ve seen going on in the PCA.”…
Fantastic week of learning, growing, stretching, and fellowship…Appreciate all the encouragement. ”
Considering Church Planting?
Then the MNA Assessment Center is for you.
The cost of assessment is less than half of one month’s salary and operating expenses for a typical church plant, and a very wise investment that individuals, churches and presbyteries can make in starting a new church
.
The next open Assessment date is September 17-20 with an application deadline of July 22.
Please plan ahead! An absolute three week lead time minimum is required prior to each application deadline in order to apply, and we often run at capacity. Not convinced? Here are a few more kudos for MNA Assessment:
“The assessors were the most valuable component of the AC… Loved the process, conversations, insight and the people. This is a life-long memory that I will certainly cherish…Getting the opportunity to learn from others in church planting and peers interested in serving the Lord in a similar way. It doesn’t happen often in the “real world” context and I felt supported and encouraged and challenged…. So much grace and love for those attending…I loved assessment, was encouraged and I’m leaving feeling that this is one of the best things I’ve seen going on in the PCA.”
