Note: June 1 is the start of our new 2025-26 program year! This means that to participate in Community Engagement or After-School Committee opportunities, the annual registration fee is now due. Scholarships are available if needed. The registration fee covers participation from June 1 through May 31 annually. No registration fee is required for youth participating only in on-campus Hands4Hope Clubs.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025! This year's graduates included a record-breaking 34 youth leaders in Hands4Hope programs, with a total of 89 seniors who were active Hands4Hope participants. We are so proud of each and every one of these participants! Follow us on Instagram & Facebook where we have posted special features about some of these grads, including quotes from them about their experiences with Hands4Hope.

Hands4Hope Youth Participants and families: please join us for the 14th Annual Youth Recognition Event! This free family-friendly event, taking place June 25 at the Placerville Gathering Place, is where we recognize the achievements of all of our Hands4Hope youth participants, whether you have attended just a handful of Community Engagement opportunities, been part of a on-campus Club or after-school Committee, or served in a leadership role! We want to celebrate it all!

Youth will also be able to present their demonstration projects, providing an opportunity for all to learn about their service-learning experiences in the 2024-25 program year.

But don't delay to RSVP... we must know if you and your fam are attending by June 15!

The 15 on-campus middle and high school Hands4Hope Clubs have wrapped up their year-long service-learning experience that includes five components: investigation, planning/preparation, action, reflection, and demonstration. We encourage you to join us in congratulating all the participants by viewing their demonstration slideshows.

The Hands4Hope Essentials Committee hosts monthly essential item distributions to provide food, clothing, and toiletries to those in need, runs resource closets at middle and high schools, assists with pop-up shops for homecoming and prom, and facilitates collection drives within the community for food, toiletries, clothing and shoes. Youth in 7th-12th grades are invited to participate in this year-long after-school committee. Meet new friends from a wide variety of backgrounds while working together on this common cause, and making a difference for those most in need. Adult mentors are needed too!

It's June, which means the Hands4Hope School Supply Drive Committee is ready to start collecting supplies to provide 700 students in need with a fresh start for the new school year! So far, committee participants have assessed supplies that are needed.

The list of drop off locations throughout the region will be forthcoming. In the meantime, items can be dropped off at the Hands4Hope El Dorado Youth Center during business hours. If your business or organization would like to host a collection bin, please reach out to kate@hands4hopeyouth.org.

Important School Supply Drive & Distribution Dates:

  • July 18: Stuff the Bus event, where a big yellow school bus will be at the El Dorado Hills Target parking lot to collect supplies, along with a crew of Hands4Hope youth participants to accept them. This date is also the deadline for supply donations for most collection locations.
  • August 5: School Supply Distribution - many Hands4Hope participants will be needed on this day to help with this huge effort!

Shannon and Jon Yoffie, of Yoffie Real Estate Group, a long-time sponsor and supporter of Hands4Hope, say that sponsoring Hands4Hope "aligns perfectly with our commitment to ensuring this region remains a thriving, compassionate place for generations to come."
