VegMichigan offers many free programs throughout the year and a free summer festival, all with the goal of introducing more people to the benefits of a plant-based diet.

Our free programs are held all over the greater metro Detroit area and are geared to those who are new to plant-based eating. These programs are of the highest quality and are expensive to run. The photos above are from a recent program in Novi where we brought in Dr. Robert Breakey to speak and provided a large variety of plant-based food samples from local restaurants for nearly 100 attendees, all free of charge. The results of our exit surveys are telling us that most attendees find the programs to be very beneficial and that they will move toward a plant-based diet as a result of attending the presentation. We also send everyone home with important information, including a list of the restaturants and grocery stores in the area that offer vegan options. Just this year alone we have hosted free programs in Northville, at Oakland University, Dearborn, Clawson, Romulus, St. Clair Shores, and Novi with many more to come. This month, we are partnering with Chickpea and Bean to host Dr. Joel Kahn at the Clinton-Macomb Public Library in Clinton Township on June 24th .

To help us continue our free programs and expand them to additional locations, we hope you'll consider renewing or becoming a VegMichigan member and/or donating to VegMichigan to support our efforts to put on these great events. Your dollars will go directly to educating attendees on why and how to go vegan. We appreciate it!

Member Spotlight: Maria Edwards
Rochester Hills resident, Maria Edwards, has been a VegMichigan member for over 14 years! Not only does she support VegMichigan through her yearly membership, she is also a star volunteer, working tirelessly to promote vegan eating by setting up monthly vegan displays at local libraries. She also works with many plant-based companies to get vegan samples donated which we give out at VegFest. Maria told us that she renews her membership every year because VegMichigan does great work, particularly at the annual VegFest as it really helps promote animal welfare and the health aspects of veganism. Maria also enjoys meeting like minded people and she is a frequent guest at our dinner clubs."Veganism helps me stay healthy and active and is a great way to inform people about the suffering of animals in factory farms." Her favorite vegan meal she makes at home is mac & cheese made with Violife cheese and she can't live without Silk almond milk yogurt . Join Maria and become a VegMichigan member today.
