Dear Parents,
So far this season we have experienced our All-School Fun Day, May Crowning, Baccalaureate Mass, and Graduations. Time goes by so quickly. As we say goodbye to our graduating 8th graders, we see the time honored traditions of our 8th graders passing on leadership roles to our 7th graders and becoming the big brothers and sisters of the school. Without fail, they fill in the shoes of those who left and make the role their own.
For those planning vacations, our calendar is finally finished! Thank you for your patience as this year we were balancing more factors than prior years. August 30th will be the first day of the 2017-2018 school year. The entire calendar is posted on Edline.
Thanks to the terrific turnout for our Spring Talent Show, we netted nearly $11,000 this year. We are using these proceeds to complete several improvement projects this summer Our early childhood classrooms will get a major upgrade with new furniture, books, carpets and play areas for our children. Also, our technology room will be getting new furniture, computers, software, etc., which will be now referred to as our INNOVATIONS room. These improvement projects will bring more excitement and learning for our students - we can't wait to unveil it all this fall.
Summer programs are filling fast, so please make sure to turn in your registration forms. Our junior high school programs are particularly helpful for getting our students better prepared for the high school entrance exams. Students who go through our prep programs are not only better prepared to perform well on these entrance exams but this program also helps ensure success in high school!

As you might be aware, high school entrance requirements are changing next year and are becoming more rigorous for both Catholic and public schools. Our summer program is an important step to prepare you child to meet these high school entrance requirements and succeed.

Please keep tuned in for the latest news regarding new high school entrance testing, procedures, and practices for the next application cycle.

I hope that you and your family have a safe and enjoyable summer.

Ms. Cavallone

St. Therese Students Participate in
Big Shoulder Fund's "Shark Tank" Contest

Seventh graders Jasmine Lee, Caitlyn Li, Chad Gyabin, Cameran Moy, Marco Au, and Lauren Leung showed their entrepreneurial skills during a recent Shark Tank contest sponsored by the Big Shoulders Fund Entrepreneurial Program.
The students designed a prototype for a product they called Magno Chip Clip, which helps keep opened bags of chips from getting stale. During the presentation, they were able to share how the product would work and its benefits to the consumer.
Although they did not win the contest, the students walked away with great presentation experience and ideas for how to improve their project next year.
