Best Practices: Kentucky-
Ecuador Chapter
The Kentucky-Ecuador Chapter shares its best practices for recruiting new members and volunteers for projects, including: (1) outreach; (2) sharing your enthusiasm for Partners; (3) telling prospective members how they can make a significant contribution to projects; and (4) mobilizing volunteers from other projects.

Child Protection Unit
This month, the CPU commemorated World Day Against Child Labor on June 12th by attending the U.S. Department of Labor's Idea Marketplace event. Different organizations came together to share and empower one another in their ongoing fight against child labor. The keynote speakers included U.S. Secretary of Labor, Alexander Acosta, and Deputy Undersecretary for International Affairs, Martha Newton.
Education and Global Citizenship Unit
The EGC launched the Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund for U.S. Exchange Alumni in June. The Fund provides small grants of up to $10,000 to teams of past and current participants of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs to carry out public service projects using the skills and knowledge they gained during their exchange experiences. The competition ends on August 14.
Economic Development and Health Unit
In May, the Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) program fielded seven volunteers, with one volunteer receiving local media coverage in Guyana on his beekeeping assignment. In June, the F2F AVOP project continued to provide knowledge management solutions and outreach on behalf of the wider F2F community, including creating outreach materials and holding an event at the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
Advancing Children's Dreams, Reducing Child Labor
Children shouldn’t work in fields, but on dreams.  Yet one in 19 children is engaged in child labor in the Americas, according to the  U.S. Department of Labor . This year, Partners of the Americas commemorated World Day Against Child Labor by striving for the United Nations  Sustainable Development Goal Target 8.7 that calls for an end to all child labor by 2025.

Pitt State University Paraguay Program Fosters Educational Opportunities between Paraguay and Kansas
The director of Pitt State University's (PSU) Nature Reach Program spent three weeks teaching in Paraguay in early June. Thanks to the PSU Paraguay Program, part of the Partners Kansas-Paraguay Chapter , nine lecturers from Pitt State visit Paraguay every year to teach students general education courses in the hopes that they will continue their education at Pitt State once they graduate high school.

The Wisconsin-Nicaragua Chapter donated nearly 2,000 feet of fire hose from senior apartment buildings in Superior, Wisconsin to Nicaragua in May. Found to be incompatible with the needs of an organization in Wisconsin, volunteers made sure it got to its partner country, Nicaragua. In late June, the Chapter gathered to celebrate the 12 containers of donations they sent to Nicaragua over the past 10 months, including firefighting gear, educational supplies, sewing machines, furniture, and sports equipment.
