Welcome to Summer

JUNE 30, 2022

Welcome to June (almost July) and summer! I hope you are all enjoying the neighborhood, heat and all that our parks have to offer, a respite from the heat and a place to read, gather with friends and enjoy the nature about us.

I am excited about our coming events! We have a collaboration with Carnival Foods to have a family street party on July 16 from noon until 3 pm. Expect great food from Carnival, games from Lake Shore Fitness, fire truck visit and much more! Gemini Bistro will be joining us with nibbles and drinks. Please come out to enjoy the afternoon with your friends and neighbors.

Also, we have our usual Evening in the Garden on September 10th, so stay tuned for the social media that announces this. Then, the best of the year is Howler at Bauler on Oct. 29, our fun filled Halloween event. You will see all of these in our social media and newsletter reports so stay tuned!

My last thought on these beautiful days of summer is that I hope you can all enjoy the lakefront again, it is open for all, go to the parks and picnic or play ball, explore some parks that are farther away from you for a family day out and embrace the freedom we have to move about.

All the best to our members and neighbors,

Sally Drucker

AUGUST

7

Fifth Star Band at Bauler Park

Save the date for August 7 from 3:30 – 5 p.m. for a free concert in Bauler Park by the local musicians of Fifth Star Band.

A modern take on American traditional rock, The Fifth Star Band grooves to a funky, old school beat that’s guaranteed to get you dancing. Drawing inspiration from Anderson East, The Revivalists, and Van Morrison, this Chicago-based, roots rock band continues to deliver upbeat, soulful tunes that are elevated by their energetic live performances. Since emerging on the Chicago music scene in the summer of ‘16, TFSB has played all around the city at venues such as The Cubby Bear, Martyrs’, Reggie’s, The Elbo Room and multiple yearly stops at The Store. Despite a minor hiatus after the December 2019 release of their first full-length album, Vice, the band resumed making their mark on the city's music landscape including a command performance in 2021 at Bauler Park.

We are overjoyed to have them return on Sunday, August 7th at Bauler Park to rock the neighborhood!
