Field School

Our intensive field schools combine a full semester of learning into just a few weeks. Summer is full of learning!

If you are a student who wants to place for rich cultures, and rugged landscape, Field School is the best your choice of summer break. The intensive summer field schools give you an experimental experience and enhance your knowledge in nature.

Terrace Campus Tour

Take a tour through our main campus located in Terrace, BC.

This campus has a wide range of programming, facilities and amenities. There is on campus housing (Wii Gyemsiga Siwilaawksat), library, lockers, café, cafeteria, wellness center, and a campus store. Students can easily hop on the bus to reach the downtown core in minutes.

Student presentations

CMTN students presented their work before wrapping up their spring semester. Let's see what our students were learning and presented about their project.

First year CMTN’s students in the Engineering program presented their robotics projects on June 1st.

This year, there were two teams that competed against each other to see whose automated claw would pick up and transport the most objects in a fixed amount of time. Each team presented the design process of creating their claw prototypes.

Students who partook in the recent Criminal Justice Field School (CJFS) presented about their experiences on their trip to Vancouver on May 25th .

The students visited the Vancouver Downtown Community Court, a treatment center, and provincial and federal courts of appeal, With the goal of exploring alternatives to the traditional response to prolific offenders, this trip provided students with data on the nature, extent, and operation of these alternatives, empowering students to advocate for alternatives.

How CMTN Students maximize the summer break

Summer Jobs

A summer internship is the best way to experience a field students choose. Harold is working at the Prince Rupert Port Authority during summer break and gaining valuable knowledge in the financial field. Amy is working for a local daycare where her practicum in the Early Child Care and Education program is happening. She can gain career experience and get paid! Summer internships offer exceptional growth opportunities.

Study

You can still take courses during summer break. A field school helps you earn some credits in intensive learning weeks during the summer. Also, it's time to dig into your interest or make friends with books and explore ways to mature mentally and spiritually.

Summer Activities

If you haven't taken an adventure yet because of your study, summer is your time to be brave to dive into the natural beauty. You can ride a bike to roam around the town and go hiking up to the beautiful mountains! Camping can be the most exciting part of a summer trip. You can find the perfect camping site to enjoy the old-growth forest.
