Greetings!
As we welcome June and the start of summer, I am filled with gratitude for the compassion, courage, and commitment that surround this work every day. This season often brings a sense of movement, energy, and renewal—and it also gives us an opportunity to reflect on the strength of our community and the shared values that guide us. This month calls us to honor Pride Month and celebrate the resilience and leadership of LGBTQ+ communities, while also commemorating Juneteenth—a powerful reminder that freedom, safety, and justice must be protected and extended to all.
At Center for Domestic Peace, these values are at the heart of everything we do. Each day, we witness the strength of survivors and the power of community to create healing, hope, and lasting change. We also see how meaningful safety is built—not only through crisis response, but through steady partnership, advocacy, housing support, counseling, prevention education, and the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to live free from violence and fear.
As we move into the summer months, this newsletter offers a snapshot of what that shared commitment makes possible. In the updates below, you will see stories of resilience, examples of community impact, and opportunities to stay connected to this work in meaningful ways. Whether you are giving, learning, attending, or simply sharing our message with others, your partnership matters deeply.
I hope you will stay connected this month by supporting our efforts, exploring our latest updates, and joining us in building a future where every person can live free from violence and fear.
With gratitude,

💙 Spring Appeal: There’s Still Time to Give
Every day, survivors in our community are making the courageous decision to seek safety—for themselves and for their children.
This spring, we were reminded of what that journey can look like through Astrid’s story. As a child, Astrid came to Center for Domestic Peace with her mother after experiencing domestic violence at home. At just four years old, she entered our programs surrounded by advocates who believed her future could be different.
Today, Astrid is a mother herself—and she recently stood before more than 350 community members to share how access to safety, healing, and stability changed the course of her life and helped break a cycle that could have continued for generations.
“I was four years old when my mom came to Center for Domestic Peace. Today, as a mother myself, I know that support didn’t just change her life—it changed mine.”
Her story is a powerful reminder: when children and families receive the right support at the right time, healing is possible—and cycles of violence can be interrupted.

Your support makes that possible.
Because of you, families gain access to:
• Safe shelter and stable housing
• Trauma-informed counseling for children and parents
• Advocacy and legal support
• The tools to rebuild and thrive

• Supported 393 survivors through legal advocacy

Behind each of these numbers is a story—of resilience, courage, and a path toward healing.

⚖️ Advancing Equity in Our Work
Our Equity Snapshot reflects what we learned over the last fiscal year and highlights where access, engagement, and outcomes improved across our programs.

Looking back on fiscal year 2024–2025, the snapshot shows how domestic violence intersects with race, gender identity, sexual orientation, language access, and economic barriers—and where focused efforts helped strengthen equity in our response.
By deepening our understanding, we strengthen our ability to:
· Expand access
· Build trust
· Provide more responsive, compassionate care
