Time to balance the budget
Dear WBJC Member

Where other Classical Music Stations play their top 40, WBJC-FM brings you our top 4,000 (and then some). Yes we play the classic Classics, but we also play the less-heard, but no less great, music from 450 to the present. While other stations are dropping or reducing their classical formats, we are committed to bringing you Classical Music 24-hours a day, seven days a week. As a Public Radio station, we rely on listener support for nearly 70% of our revenue.

WBJC’s fiscal year closes on June 30th and we are still short of balancing our budget. You can help by making an additional gift today.

We are the official station of the Metropolitan Opera and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. And we bring you programming that can only be heard on WBJC. All of the music that we originate is programming chosen by our own on-air staff; we never use computer algorithms or fixed playlists to determine what you hear.

But all of this comes at a price. By making an additional gift to WBJC before June 30th, you will help us meet our budgetary goals for the year. You can charge your pledge on our secure websiteor if you prefer the personal touch, you can call our Membership Office at 410-580-5800 and we will be happy to take your pledge at your convenience.

This is really an investment in your future and the future of Classical music broadcasting. A gift now of $500, $250, $100, $50, or whatever you can afford, will ensure that we keep Maryland Classical.

Sincerely,

Joseph Hutchins
WBJC General Manager

P.S. Once again, thank you for your generous support of WBJC. Classical radio can be heard on the airwaves only because you care … and you give.

Two years ago, I got into historical reenacting and docent work. I owned a lot of vintage clothing at the time – still do – but nothing remotely appropriate for Georgian or Regency events. I found a couple of gowns that will just barely pass muster for the latter period (they have zippers! Quel dommage!) on etsy and eBay, respectively, but a good quality 18th century-style dress isn’t so easy to come by... read more here
