What's the Buzz?

"Dreams are the seeds of change. Nothing ever grows without a seed, and nothing ever changes without a dream." - Debby Boone
Big changes are coming to Child Care Links. On July 1st, Child Care Links will merge with Family Service Counseling and Community Resource Center and will be expanding our mental health services. This merger will allow us to bring mental health services to our Oakland and Tri-Valley locations. What does this mean? We will be able to provide individual, group and family therapy for people of all ages! With the merger, we will be adding about 20 clinicians to our staff. We are very excited to add them to our agency family!
We are also changing our name! It became clear to me at the first event I attended after assuming the CEO role that our agency name was confusing, even limiting. At a community volunteer fair, people would walk by and say, "I don't need child care." We don't provide child care. We help families find high quality child care, we train child care providers, but those are just a small part of the agency's work.
Child Care Links has been around for over 40 years. The agency's work and mission have expanded as community needs have. We are excited to bring a fresh, new look and feel to our agency branding, but more importantly, we are excited about the work we do to provide resources to help our kids. our families and our communities thrive!
We are very grateful for all of our families, volunteers, donors, supporters who share in making our communities and our world a better place. And we are very excited about the future of....(stayed tuned to find out our new name)!

WHAT'S GOING ON AT CHILD CARE LINKS?
|
|
|
Study after study has shown that when fathers are engaged with their children, when they are affectionate and supportive, it greatly affects a child’s cognitive and social development. It also instills an overall sense of well-being and self confidence.
Fathers not only influence who we are inside, but how we have relationships with people as we grow. The way a father treats his child will influence what he or she looks for in other people. The patterns a father sets in the relationships with his children will dictate how his children relate with other people.
Recognizing the importance of fathers, Child Care Links has secured grant funding to expand our offerings for dads and their kids. Strengthening families is our mission. Strengthening the bonds between dads and their kids is critical to our efforts.
Speaking of fathers, in two weeks we will celebrate Father's Day. We will remember and celebrate the incredible influence of our dads in our own lives. As a way of honoring your father, consider making a donation to Child Care Links.
