We have great news to share. We’ve received a 2024 Houston Methodist DEI grant to support our adult day program!

Now in its fourth year, the DEI Grant Program will support more than 52,000 people in the #HTX community through 22 healthy neighborhood programs, 12 economic empowerment programs and 13 educational empowerment programs.

Double Your Impact for Avondale House!

Avondale House is embarking on an expansion initiative to open an additional residential home dedicated to providing 24/7 care for six new adults with moderate to severe autism. This expansion will not only address the immediate need for housing and support for individuals with autism, but also ensure that these individuals receive the specialized around-the-clock care and attention they deserve. Our goal is to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where residents can thrive and reach their full potential.

An incredibly generous anonymous donor has pledged to match $400,000 of non-fundraising event gifts received through September 2024. However, to unlock this generous match, we must raise $400,000 ourselves during this period. We are happy to report that we have already raised 75% of the funds needed and need your help to reach our goal!



Please make a generous gift to help us achieve this target and provide a safe, nurturing home to call their own for six adults with autism. Your continued generosity will provide immediate and critical support for families who have waited over a decade to receive access to the 24/7 care and support their child deserves. Together, we can ensure that six individuals and their families have a lifeline that lasts their entire lifetime.

We are thrilled to invite you to the 5th Annual Avondale House Bingo Bash, happening on the evening of Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the soon-to-be-renovated Junior League of Houston. It’s going to be a night bursting with excitement, games, and fantastic prizes, all while supporting a cause close to our hearts.

Adding a dash of creativity and competition, sponsors can select their own table themes and dress accordingly - and yes, the crowd-favorite Best Dressed Table competition is back (with a few more exciting categories)! So, get your creative juices flowing and prepare to dress to impress!

Day School Field Day with Omega Psi Phi

We were so happy to welcome a group from Omega Psi Phi to Avondale House this month! The group participated in a summer Field Day event with the day school. Thanks so much for coming out to spend recreational time with our students!

Run, walk or cycle for Avondale House!

Up for a fun and rewarding challenge? Join our team for Bike to the Beach 2024, happening on October 26, and ride from Houston to Surfside Beach in support of those with autism and disABILITIES! The ride offers a 25, 50 and 100-mile route, so there is a distance for everyone! Now is the perfect time to register and begin training and fundraising.

Registration for the 2025 Chevron Houston Marathon race weekend, happening January 18 and 19, 2025, is now open.
