WDBCCC Explores Clean Energy Workforce Opportunities at Phillips 66 Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex

The WDBCCC recently participated in the DOGWF Grant Community of Practice session hosted at the Phillips 66 Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex in Rodeo, California. The event brought together workforce, education, labor, and industry partners to explore regional collaboration opportunities supporting the growing clean energy economy.


Participants toured the facility, learned about emerging clean energy careers and workforce needs, and discussed future partnerships focused on workforce training, apprenticeship pathways, and expanding access to family-sustaining careers in renewable energy industries.

WDB Staff Tours Community Youth Center Facilities

The WDBCCC recently toured the expanded facilities at Community Youth Center (CYC) in Concord, one of the providers of Measure X Youth Services and the host for all District 4 Youth Services. CYC's mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and accessible space for local youth, offering recreational and youth support services.


The tour, led by CYC Executive Director Matt Harrison, a former history teacher at De La Salle High School, took WDBCCC staff through the center's diverse amenities designed to support youth engagement, wellness, and personal growth. These amenities include basketball courts, fitness and recreational areas, meeting rooms, and spaces dedicated to mentorship and academic support, career exploration and job readiness, and community programming.


The visit highlighted the important role CYC plays in fostering connection, leadership, and positive youth development within the community.

Alaska Airlines Aviation Day – Exciting New Opportunities for Youth Coming Soon!

The WDBCCC is looking forward to Alaska Airlines Aviation Day on Saturday, June 6th at SFO West Cargo Rd, San Francisco! This free, hands-on event is designed to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals by giving young people the opportunity to explore careers in aviation and connect with industry professionals.


This event is presented by Community Youth Center (CYC) in partnership with the WDBCCC, Making Waves Education Foundation, and Earn & Learn, as part of the Measure X Youth Centers initiative.
