If you have never watched the movie, The UPSIDE, fellow Philly native Kevin Hart plays a paroled thief who walks into a job caring for a quadriplegic billionaire (Bryan Cranston). It's a great movie, based on a true story.
In one of the opening scenes before he is hired, KH steals a first-edition hardback of a popular best-seller BC keeps on a special display shelf in his office and gives it to his teenage son as a gift. Later, KH must ask for it back when BC explains the book's value.
"I read the book when I was younger. It's a first-edition hardback signed by the author. My (late) wife paid a lot of money for it, but I wouldn't sell it for any amount of money."
I immediately thought of MEG: Generations and The LOCH: Heaven's Lake, the latter of which I am still writing. Only 4,500 first editions of GEN were pre-sold and printed last year. So far, we've only sold about 1,000 copies of LOCH: Heaven's Lake. We'll sell more as news of The LOCH movie is announced.

Either way, these two books are special gifts from me to my most loyal readers. The reason I continue to push and encourage you to buy LOCH: Heaven's Lake is because these books will triple in value before the first one is delivered in the fall. Of course, by then you won't be able to buy it as pre-sales will end a day before the manuscript is sent to the printer.
Every week I receive email from new readers. Many are new MEGheads who are plowing through the series a book every 2-5 days... and they all want to know where they can purchase a MEG: Generations hardback. My response: "We sold out about a year ago. But you can visit my social media pages and ask if any of the MEGheads who purchased multiple copies (Alton Reece!) want to sell theirs. But you'll have to pay a lot more."
The truth is the demand will far exceed the supply on these two hardbacks. And after The LOCH movie and MEG 2:The TRENCH hit theaters... forget about it. Yes, the wealthy will always find a way, but like the billionaire in The UPSIDE most will refuse to sell their signed first editions.
Reality check: I'm 59 years old. I no longer do bookstore signings because of my Parkinson's. This damn disease makes typing very difficult during the good days and near-impossible on the bad ones. Thankfully, it has not affected my ability to plot or spin my tales. Still, God only knows how many novels I have left in me.
I'll keep at it as long as I can, and I promise The LOCH: Heaven's Lake will be among your favorite novels.

TOR/Forge Books Options Pub Rights to MEG: GENERATIONS & MEG: PURGATORY
|
 We've been working on this for a while. TOR/Forge, my long-time publisher who published MEG: Primal Waters, Hell's Aquarium, and Nightstalkers in the MEG series (and many of my other books) now owns the pub rights to Generations and Purgatory. Their plan is to publish a trade paperback of MEG: Generations in June of 2020. (This means that the only hardbacks in existence remain the ones MEGheads pre-purchased last year). TOR will do an excellent job and I suspect some really cool things as we get closer to MEG-2: The TRENCH's theatrical release.

Recipe of the Month: Avocada Cocoa Parfait
|
 This stuff is sweeter than chocolate mousse and is healthy:
Ingredients:
4 ripped avocados
1 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin spice
1- tablespoon coconut oil
1/2 cup agave
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 teaspoon rosewater
Put all the ingredients in a vit-mix and mixed into a cream.

Bonus Recipe: Tropical Nice Cream
|
 Ingredients:
3 Large frozen bananas
1 Pineapple chopped and frozen
1 Papaya or mango chopped and frozen
2 Tbsp plant based protein powder- optional
⅛ Cup coconut milk
⅛ Tbs nutmeg-optional
½ Tbs fresh lime juice
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a high power blender, blend until smooth and creamy. Transfer to bowls, garnish with fresh fruit and fresh mint leaf.
