Voice for Children Gala
Our 16th Annual Voice for Children Gala, "There's No Place Like Home" was a huge success. We are incredibly grateful to each of our sponsors, attendees, and volunteers. Everyone that attended made a significant impact in the fight against child abuse in our community. We continue to help ensure that every child in Collin County knows the joy of a safe and forever home.

Our 17th Annual Voice for Children Gala will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017.

Welcome Aboard
We are elated to announce on Thursday, May 19, CASA of Collin County had 13 new CASA Advocates sworn in by Judge John Roach Jr. of the 296th Judicial District Court of Collin County.
Advocate Of The Year
Mary Ingram

Mary has advocated for a total of 7 children so far, and currently is still advocating for 4 of them, ages 2 through 16 years old. She has children in Tyler, South Dallas and Cedar Hill. She never fails to see all of these children as required each month. One of her cases involves a child that was raped by a family member and impregnated at the young age of 12 and delivered the child at age 13. Mary has been a huge support and advocate for her and her child. Mary was there when the baby was born; she has taken her to many appointments and visits as well as stays in touch with her caretakers to ensure that her needs are met. Mary was with her throughout the criminal trial of the perpetrator and is always available to lend support in any way she can.

Mary says of her CASA experience: "I couldn't have picked any other volunteer organization that would have more meaning for me personally or impacted my life so positively."

Please join us in celebrating all the lives that Mary has impacted since becoming an advocate in 2012!

Character of CASA

Please watch this amazing video. "Joey" was fourteen years old and in foster care before he was adopted by an amazing family who spotted him on Wednesday's Child. "Joey's" new sister wanted to write an essay to present at a Character Luncheon competition at her middle school. She was so inspired by the work of CASA, she decided to write about the"character" of CASA volunteers. The essay  she presented to her school won first place in her grade level. Every child deserves and safe, loving and forever home.
Help Us Recruit Volunteers

Do you love CASA? We would love for you to help us recruit new CASA Volunteer Advocates. Swing by our office to pick up some applications and brochures to give to anyone that you know may be a good fit. Or email Madison Savage at msavage@casaofcollincounty.org for an inquiry packet to share with your friends, coworkers or family members.

You do not have to be a lawyer or a social worker to be a volunteer. We welcome people from all walks of life. We are simply looking for people who care about children and have a few free hours a month. You must pass a background check, participate in a 30-hour pre-service training course and agree to stay with a case until it is closed (a year and a half on average).

Being a CASA is one of the most difficult and yet rewarding things that you could ever do.

Nothing you do for children is ever wasted

I am for the child who has been abused.
Who doesn't want to go home.
The child who no longer believes in herself.

I am for the child who has been neglected.
Who doesn't know where her next meal is coming from.
The child who must be the parent to his siblings.

I am for the child who was taken away for her own protection.
The child who is now in foster care.
Who doesn't know who these people are.
Or how long he'll be there.

I am for the child who's lived in five foster homes in a single year.
Who's attended six schools in four years.
Who sits in back of yet another classroom, surrounded by strangers.

I am for the child who will one day turn 18 - and will be surrendered to the world.

Are you for the child?
