And the winner is…………..

The Chamber recently hosted its Annual Bowling Fundraiser and “Fun” was indeed the best word to describe the event. Thirteen teams comprised of 5 bowlers each joined together at the Wakefield Bowladrome for a night of fun and friendly competition! The competition was fierce and the contest remained extremely close. The finish and the determination of a winner went right down to the very last ball that was thrown and the very last pin to fall!

The team representing The Savings Bank led by Bank President Bob DiBella took first place edging the second place team from the Dockside by a total pin fall of ONLY 4 pins when all was said and done. The Town of Wakefield bowling team representatives lead by Council Chair Mehreen Butt and Town Administrator Steve Maio grabbed the remaining spot on the podium and finished in third place. Congratulations to each of our winners and all of the teams who participated and supported the Chamber in this event.

We would like to recognize the team from Holiday Travel – the defending Champions who were hoping to repeat but it was not to be for them this year. We would also like to thank them for their graciousness in presenting this years Champions “The Savings Bank” with the Championship Trophy! A classy group of individuals and worthy champions welcoming the new champions!

The Chamber would like to thank Charlie's on Main and The Dockside for providing the pizza for all of our bowlers and volunteers that night. We also would like to thank our hosts, The Wakefield Bowladrome for their hospitality – it was a great event and they were very gracious and helpful throughout the entire evening. Lastly, a great big shout out to our premier sponsors for this event “The Savings Bank” and “First Financial Trust Co.” for their support. And of course, a special recognition to our lane sponsors for the evening: The Dockside, Deana M. McGovern, CPA, MBA of Camerlengo & Associates, Cataldo Ambulance and Peter Rossetti Insurance Agency.

As usual, we began our month of June with a terrific turnout for our monthly Breakfast Club Networking at Brothers. We were very pleased to welcome State Representative and Minority Leader Brad Jones (Lynnfield) who took time out of his busy scheduled to stop by and mingle and network with our Chamber members. He was joined as well by State Representative Donald Wong (Wakefield/Saugus) also taking some time to mingle and converse with those present. Why not find out for yourself what an enjoyable and time well spent event this is and join us next month on Thursday July 7 between 8:00 am and 9:30 am. Hope to see you then!
