Town Hall Sunday, June 6
A Message from the Vestry

We are happy to gather again this Sunday in person and online for another Town Hall meeting. If you plan to join online, the Zoom link will be sent via email on Sunday morning so it will be right at the top of your email!

Faith Episcopal Church has been blessed with an amazing community of strong leaders and volunteers. We have been able to continue through this past year to engage as a community through Town Hall Zoom meetings, Zoom Coffee Hours, numerous Zoom small groups and studies, and of course online services. As our community continues to get vaccinated we have been able to provide more in-person and hybrid opportunities. Last month we joined in fellowship for a Pentecost BBQ.

We want to continue these in-person, online, and hybrid opportunities for our Faith community. This Sunday is another opportunity to gather in a hybrid model by attending our Town Hall. We will cover two topics:

  • First, we will share the results of the survey sent last month regarding Racial Justice and Reconciliation.
  • Second, we will share an update on our finances. We are taking this time to be transparent about the financial health of our church.

The pandemic has been tough on all of us in many ways. We were able to secure a loan to help cover donation losses this past year. In order to continue to flourish as a Faith community, your help is needed in two ways:

1.       Please consider volunteering over the next couple of months as we transition from this pandemic.

2.       Prayerfully consider supporting the church's efforts financially as we recover from this pandemic as well.

Thank you on behalf of the Vestry,
Kristen West

Ministry and Service at Faith
California is preparing to get back to normal! On June 15, COVID capacity and distancing restrictions will be lifted for most businesses and activities. We have been back for in-person worship for about a month and our Sunday Worship Ministries are reforming.

Perhaps you have been thinking about how you want to be involved in our community and Sunday worship? During the next few months, our Ministry Leaders will be reaching out to prior volunteers and you'll have the chance to decide if you want to continue in a prior ministry or perhaps try something new.

The new Realm system is your link to participating in community, service, and ministry at Faith. When you log in to Realm you can view all a description of various ministries and even send a message to the Ministry Leader requesting more information or to join the team! You can access this system at the bottom of the home page on our website.

Spotlight on the Hospitality Ministry
Enjoy the Gift of Providing Hospitality
After 7 years Pat McClintock is stepping down as ministry leader for Hospitality. Pat has dedicated many years ensuring that we are well taken care of during each Sunday service, with plenty of cookies and coffee. The Hospitality ministry leader coordinates the needs for the kitchen, which includes – staffing, cookie buddies, and supplies. Realm assists with scheduling and often Hospitality volunteers assist with some of the duties.

Many of you have served in this ministry before and remember the laughter and fellowship as we worked together as a team and watched the happy faces enjoying the goodies. Faith Episcopal Church is now asking you to discern how you can bring renewed energy and creativity to the Hospitality Ministry, as we return to joining together to worship in our Chapel. Without your love of providing a warmhearted greeting to our worshipers, there will no longer be the gift of hospitality each Sunday.

Thank you for your consideration of this ministry,

Eva Tak
