Summer Hours
Please take note of the following change in our office hours.  The office will be closed each Friday during the summer months beginning June1. 
 
Office hours for the summer are as follows:
Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Friday - Closed
 
If you need immediate pastoral assistance when the office is closed, please call           Pastor Mark, 412-974-8378 or Pastor Walt 979-203-0822.                                           
Christ Kids Summer School Program will operate at the church M-F 7:15am - 5:30pm

A Building and Grounds committee is being organized to care for our church on a regular and on going basis. Ron Kuecker is heading up this committee and will organize and set-up a schedule for maintenance at the church. A sign-up sheet is at the Heartline desk.   The care and maintenance of our church and property is an important ministry here at Christ Lutheran.   Please consider giving a little of your time to help at the church.  We need YOU!

CHURCH COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS
May 18, 2016               
  • Approved minutes and treasurer's report.
  • Pastor Mark will be attending Synod Assembly.
  • Approved Alex Klinker to refurbish the original cross for his Eagle Scout project.
  • Vision statement was presented to council for review.
  • Nominations to fill the vacant council position were presented.
  • Music Committee will begin to meet.
  • Brenda Schultz will check on updating pictorial directory of the church.
FOUNDATION BOARD HIGHLIGHTS
May 9, 2016               
  • Heard Financial Report from John Mott
  •  Approved minutes from the Jan. 18, 2016 board meeting; Approved Treasurer's report
  • Approved the recommendation from the Investment Committee to move certain investments to other investment funds.
  • Yearly review of all Foundation policy was conducted. Adopted policy change to Investment Policy.  All other policies adopted with no change.
  • June 15, 2016 - Deadline for all 2016-17 Foundation Grant Applications
DAY SCHOOL NEWS

Once again we have celebrated the end of pre-school with our Pre-K classes, the Sonbeams and Amazing Acorns.  Graduation was held in the sanctuary on May 27 th with a reception following in the Fellowship Hall. We wish these beautiful children well in their kindergarten adventures and hope that we have set them on the right path academically and provided a firm faith foundation to grow on.

Mission Trip


Our Mission trip to the Navajo Nation in Arizona is July 3-8.  Seven of  our youth will serve through painting, yard work, cleaning, simple work projects and           programming for community children. 
 
We are making final plans for our trip.  Thank you for your support over the past year in preparation of this mission trip.
 
Vacation Bible School
July 18-22, 2016
 
 
Join us for the brightest week of the summer ....... July 18-22  where kids                 (3yrs-5th grade) follow Jesus, the Light of the World, as they explore the Rock-Solid Foundation of God's love.
 
You Can Help Us Rock our expedition by  hiking into Cave Quest with kids as a crew leader, craft leader, music leader, game  leader, snack  leader, or a bible story leader.                      
 
Registration forms and Sign-up opportunities are at the Heartline desk.  
Register by July 3.
