Woodson Engineering is now an Ardurra Company
We are excited to inform you that Woodson Engineering and Surveying has merged with Ardurra Group, Inc. We are looking forward to the opportunities the new partnership presents to our clients and our staff and wanted to let you know what to expect.

Woodson will become Ardurra’s Flagstaff office, and we will continue to focus on serving the very diverse engineering needs of the vast regions of Arizona. Our service to our clients, expertise, and professional staff will remain the same. We will continue to provide our Woodson hands-on management style, and Project Managers who are responsive to your questions and needs. Now there will be additional resources we can provide that are available through the Ardurra partnership. You can learn much more about Ardurra at their website: www.ardurra.com

Over the coming weeks and months, you may start to see some changes in our appearance. Our invoices will look different, our email signatures will eventually change, and we’ll have some transitional logos. But we want you to know that we will still be the same engineers, surveyors and administrative staff that you have worked with in the past!

We encourage you to reach out to us at any time. You can call your Woodson Project Manager with any questions that you have going forward. Thank you very much for trusting us with your engineering and surveying projects. We greatly appreciate your business, and we look forward to working with you on your future projects and needs.
Woodson History - 28 Years!
In June, Woodson will celebrate its 28th year in business. In 1994, Mark and Guadalupe (Lupe) Woodson started the firm in the spare bedroom of their home in Flagstaff Arizona. They still live in the same home, but the office moved out when it became clear the new firm was going to expand rapidly. “We were surprised at how quickly we outgrew our office space. Our location changed twice in the first year and our staff size grew to 12 in only 18 months” Mark explained.
Our office specializes in land surveying, planning and civil engineering for both private land development and public works projects. “The firm’s core services have changed very little over the past 28 years. We just keep  adding knowledge and expertise with additional projects completed” Mark explained.

Mark attended the University of Arizona and earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s of Business Administration. He has been a licensed professional engineer and land surveyor in Arizona for over 35 years. Early in his career Mark served as the Town Engineer for Eagar, and then moved to Flagstaff to become the City Engineer, before starting his own company. Mark also served on the Flagstaff City Council for 3 years and was 2016 President of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Staff News
Jim Folkers to Retire
As Jim Folkers closes in on 50 years of surveying he has announced he will be retiring at the end of May! Jim has been the Survey Manager at Woodson for over 11 years. His interest in surveying began at an early age. "When I was between the ages of 8 and 12 years old I spent the summers helping my Dad while he surveyed and designed Forest Service roads" Jim recalled. Then he got a job as a surveyor as he worked his way through college. He received a B.S. degree from Northern Arizona University with a double major in Biology and Chemistry - but after college he just kept on surveying. We thank Jim for his many years of service and the expertise he brought to Woodson, and wish him many happy years in retirement, traveling and spending more time with family and friends!
Robert Willett, PE
Congratulations to Robert Willett, PE! Robert passed his PE exam and is now a Project Manager. He’s been a traffic and transportation specialist at Woodson since 2014 and we are fortunate to have him on our team.
