Kate Dyer-Seeley's Pacific Northwest Mystery Series

{Submitted and Adapted by Ellen Russon}

Kate Dyer-Seeley's lighter fare mystery series takes you to the great outdoors in the Pacific Northwest with aspiring journalist, Meg Reed. To land a job writing for Northwest Extreme Magazine, an adventure publication, Meg exaggerated her outdoor experience and athletic prowess quite a bit. In reality she's terrified of heights, and she also has tendencies to trip over bodies on the trail. The books in the series are set in Portland, Oregon, Mount Hood, Columbia River Gorge, Lava River Cave, and more. As Meg participates in and covers stories on rock climbing, high-altitude rescue team training, river wind surfing, an extreme 5K mud marathon, and a subterranean adventure, she also finds herself investigating crimes and murders in the worlds of sports, adventure, ecology efforts, and debates on the use of public lands. These are fun and entertaining mysteries with great settings and a touch of humor as well. Each book includes an Adventure Guide. The five books in the series so far, which are best read in chronological order, are: Scene of the Climb, Slayed on the Slopes, Silence in the Surf, First Degree Mudder, and In Cave Danger. For a description of each book and the plot, see: https://www.elliealexander.co/books/pacific-northwest-mystery-series/

"A splendid overview of the greater Portland and Columbia River Gorge region, perfect for travel buffs. Her protagonist shows promise with her determined attitude and moxie."

"A fun, terrific adventure." - Suspense Magazine
