The weather is looking perfect for the 21st Annual VegFest! Nearly 100 vendors will be showcasing amazing plant-based foods, including your favorite food trucks and restaurants! Choose from comfort foods, healthy options, and delicious desserts, and there will be plenty of free taste samples! Enjoy sustainable shopping and learn about the great work of local nonprofits helping animals and protecting the environment. There will be plenty of fun for the whole family, including music from DJ Drake Phifer, Founder of Urban Organics, and violinist Ashley Nelson. Plus, enjoy free massages from Irene's Myomassology! Meat the Future: Benefits, Drawbacks, and Insights Into Cultured Meat
Join us on Thursday, June 2, at 6:30pm for a fascinating presentation about cultured meat by VegMichigan intern Ryan Blum. Ryan is a high school senior at Cranbrook. Ryan came across VegMichigan while looking for plant-based organizations that make an impact and have values in line with his passion for creating a kinder and healthier world. Ryan’s specific interests include agriculture, philosophy, and social justice. This fall, he will be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Business Management and Food Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

A warm welcome to our newest board member, Nisha Andronic! Nisha is a graduate of Michigan State University, where she studied Interactive Communication and Digital Arts. Married and living in Troy, she works as a General Manager for Quality Design Services, Inc. Nisha will bring her experience in philanthropy and business management to VegMichigan. When she is not working Nisha enjoys playing golf and DIY art projects.
