Greetings to the start of this sun-sational season! Summer is almost upon us which means outdoor adventures, gardening, and many other fun-filled activities at the Club. The excitement is in full swing as we approach our Summer Program, and an introduction to a special new program offered at the Club.

This summer season ushers in an amazing opportunity for Club members as we launch our very first Mountain Biking Program. Learn more about this special program, and how you can help give the gift of adventure to our Club members!

Summer is an exciting time for our Club members as they are invited to explore new hobbies, try new experiences and build life-long relationships. Our summer programs explore this world & beyond through weekly themes that are incorporated into each of our programs. Summer Mountain Biking Program
Registration for this exciting program is now open!

Registration is only $50 (actual program value is $650!)
Building our own Electric Go Kart!
Sign up your child for this special program offered as one of our weekly themed activities for the week of June 24th-June 28th!

Volunteer Jerry Porter, who is from a lineage of makers with an extensive background in manufacturing, brought this exciting idea for a project to the Club, and will be assisting staff member Evan in executing this project with a group of Club members this summer. It is an amazing opportunity for Club members to be part of a team becoming engineers and creators, while also learning about fabrication and measurement skills, and gaining hands-on experience. Student Summer Bus Pass
Does your child need transportation to the Club's Summer Program? During the summer months, Siskiyou County S.T.A.G.E. is offering $20 Student Summer Bus Passes! For more information please contact them at (530) 842-8220.

Round-Up at Black Bear Diner
Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta is a proud supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of the Siskiyous through their on-going Round It Up America program. This program invites customers of Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar to support one of three local nonprofits and we are one of them. While individual donations may be nominal, their collective sum is powerful, supporting the dream of a brighter tomorrow for more children in Siskiyou County. We encourage you to participate, and spread the word to family and friends about this deliciously delightful fundraiser!

When you support our Summer Program, you are contributing to outdoor adventures, field trips, the Arts, sports & games and summer Brain Gain; as well as providing youth with nutritious snacks and meals all summer long!

Kaya Schwenke

Kaya is a member of our Red Group (6th-8th graders) who has become an emerging leader at the Club. Kaya loves helping other Club kids, as well as the staff every opportunity she gets. Everyday Kaya always has a great attitude and her smile resonates throughout the entire Club. She is one of the first members to arrive, and one of the last to leave. Kaya sets a great example for all Club members, and each and every day she leaves the Club a little better than she found it.
Youth Fishing Day
Last Saturday's Youth Fishing Event was filled with sunshine, an abundance of fun, and a chance for our Club members to get hooked on fishing.

Thank you Mount Shasta Union School District for your continuous support of the Club! Because of you, we can provide a safe, fun space for our Club members after-school and during the summer months. We appreciate all that you do for our Club kids.
A special thank you to Banner Bank for their generous donation to our upcoming Mountain Biking Program, as well as their outstanding support of the Club through their "Great Futures Start with You" donation promotion at their Mt. Shasta branch.

A special thank you to Tom Stienstra for visiting the Cub to promote the Youth Fishing Day Event. Every Club member received a free, signed copy of the new 21st edition of Moon California Camping by award-winning author and Rotarian, Tom Stienstra himself, as well as a free bandana. Thank you to Donna Galassi from Avalon Travel for donating the books and bandanas.
