We have 2 job opportunities in Utica, NY:

Case Manager:
Case Managers devote 100% of their time to specific grant populations depending on the grant requirements. Assists the Program Director by providing direct services including program recruitment and retention. Provides leadership training to participants as well as mentoring and support. Counsels individuals with meeting education and employment goals and with all employment related activities. Secures information such as education, skills and social factors contributing to the client’s situation and evaluate their needs. Assists the client with resumes, cover letters, job searches and interview preparation. Provides on the job support as needed once the individual becomes employed. Compiles records and complete case notes and reports.


Business Services Representative:
The Business Services Representative is a semi-autonomous position responsible for programmatic and employer related activities. Develops and implements agreed upon business outreach plan to meet business goals. Works within the business services team for the achievement of customer satisfaction and long-term employer relationship goals in line with agency values, mission and vision. Individual accountability and work volume will be established through the development of annual objectives.

Hartwick College Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program Sends Letter of Appreciation


"Dear Alan and Kathy,
 
Good afternoon! First, thank you very much for your incredible support of our Hartwick free tax community service! Here are some highlights for our 2022 service performance:
 
-  Saved total preparation and filing fees of $123,877.00 for the community
-  Achieved total tax refund and benefit of $1,120,383.00 for the community
-  Hartwick VITA have been nominated as Champion of Training in 2022 IRS Partner Recognition Ceremony

CDO Workforce Job Fair Success
We participated in four job fairs in May!

CDO Workforce has been busy during the month of May working with schools and businesses to promote local job openings at Job Fairs throughout all three counties. 

The Southern Tier Virtual Job Fair was held on May 19th. The job seeker attendance doubled from the previous month!  

Two in-person Job Fairs, promoting jobs to young people, were held at NCOC BOCES in Grand Gorge in Delaware County and at Oneonta High School in Otsego County. Various employers looking for summer help were there as well as CDO Staff promoting our Summer Youth Employment Programs.

And finally, another in-person mini Job Fair was held at the Norwich YMCA in Chenango County, sponsored by Achieve with ten local employers in attendance.

Hold a recruitment event at Norwich CDO Workforce

In June the Norwich CDO Workforce Center will begin holding in-person Recruitments for businesses that have job opportunities in Chenango, Delaware or Otsego County.

The Recruitments will take place on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. 

Job Seekers will be able to meet with the business to discuss openings and apply for positions.

Project Excite: IT & Cybersecurity Training

Are you interested in IT or Cybersecurity training?

Contact us about our IT & Cybersecurity Grant training program: Project Excite!

Project Excite aims to serve unemployed and underemployed residents across 9 counties of Upstate New York. Students planning to attend training for technical jobs in IT or Cybersecurity may be eligible for up to a $5,000 scholarship towards tuition!

Eligibility Requirements:
>Before entering training, students must be a resident of one of the following counties: Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Fulton, Montgomery, Schoharie, Chenango, Delaware, or Otsego.
>Students must have a high school education and be completing their training or degree by May of 2024.
