Hallelujah, it's June! With each increase on the thermometer and graduation party invite, we step further into our long-awaited summer. Another landmark of summer are wedding celebrations, enough so to even coin the term "wedding season". If you're not attending one this year, you probably still know plenty of married couples with summer anniversaries or maybe have one yourself--as we Minnesotans love our outdoor weddings! And why not join in on celebrations, whether your own or others. God LOVES love, the greatest gift of all, and desperately desires for us to experience that as well!
No matter what your relationship status is, I'm sure you're fully aware that marriage and dating is not always a walk in the park. The beautiful gardens adorning many of our outdoor parks require no short amount of planning, working, and tending in order to fully reap the benefits they offer; relationships are no different.
To all those looking forward to their wedding date, celebrating their anniversary, or have any relationships at all in their lives (really), I recommend the following short blog post by one of my favorite Christian authors, Timothy Willard. His article, "
The 7 Simple Rules for Marriage Fighting
," is written with such relevance and clarity it didn't make sense for me to pass along any other no-nonsense advice for when our relationships feel more like a walk down a dark ally than a walk in the park. I think you'll appreciate it's candor; feel free to pass it along to anyone else who might like this great reminder :) Happy wedding season, everyone!
