Rancho Cordova Brings Education and Industry Leaders Together to Shape Future AI Workforce

In May, the City of Rancho Cordova, Human Machine Collaboration Institute, Solidigm, Sacramento State, Folsom Lake College, Folsom Cordova Unified School District, SMUD, and FarmGPU came together to sign an agreement advancing K-to-Career, a workforce-focused effort within the Rancho Cordova AI & Robotics Ecosystem. The effort builds on the broader ecosystem launched by the city, HMCI and NVIDIA, and focuses on bringing education and industry together to better connect learning, training and real workforce needs in AI, robotics and semiconductor industries.

Community Food Hub of Rancho Cordova Celebrates Ribbon Cutting

The Community Food Hub of Rancho Cordova, formerly known as the Rancho Cordova Food Locker, celebrated its ribbon cutting on May 20, marking a meaningful new chapter in how families throughout the community access fresh, healthy food.


The new 6,600-square-foot facility is designed to feel more like a neighborhood market than a traditional food distribution site.

Illegal Fireworks Reminders

As the Fourth of July approaches, the City of Rancho Cordova reminds residents that all fireworks are illegal year-round except for Safe & Sane fireworks which may only be used June 28 through July 4 from 9 AM to 10 PM. The fines for illegal fireworks use have increased significantly, and the city strictly enforces it.

June 6: Art in the Park


Art in the Park 2026 is a pop-up event that brings local artists and the community together. This year's event is set to take place at Lincoln Village Community Park on Saturday, June 6 from 11 AM to 3 PM. The event will host artists and vendor booths, with scheduled vendors including fine artists, painters, jewelry makers, local resources, and more! Attendees will have access to family-friendly crafts and activities, music and lawn games for all ages.

FREE Programs at the RCYC this Summer!


Travelers through Time Summer Camp at the RCYC will be an immersive, adventure-filled experience where youth journey across history—from prehistoric times to ancient civilizations and the Viking Age—through hands-on learning and play. Each day blends creativity, discovery, and connection with activities like arts and crafts, STEAM challenges, reading, physical games, and social-emotional learning. Each week ends with a fun, themed movie night, celebrating their journey and bringing each era to life.

California Association of Youth Commissions Summer Internship


Students in grades 8 - 11 are invited to apply for the California Association of Youth Commissions Summer Internship. This virtual, asynchronous internship (3 hours/week) runs June 15- August 15. They can choose their track: Legislation & Policy, Communications, Youth Commission Establishment & Outreach, Conference Planning, and Finance. They will gain hands-on policy and leadership experience, mentorship from experienced youth leaders, access to our Advisory Board, a Day at the Capitol, and connections with like-minded students across California! Apply by June 10.

Free Pet Vaccine & Microchip Clinic Dates for 2026


The City of Rancho Cordova Animal Services Division is offering free drive-thru rabies vaccines and microchips for pets belonging to Rancho Cordova residents throughout 2026. Appointments are required and open two weeks prior to each clinic date. Clinics are held from 8 AM - 12 PM at Neighborhood Services, 2880 Gold Tailings Court.

Public Safety

RCPD Recovers Stolen Mail, Arrests Two Suspects


RCPD officers quickly located and stopped a vehicle after a witness reported seeing a suspect steal mail from a community mailbox and provided a vehicle description and license plate. During the investigation, officers recovered numerous pieces of stolen mail, including a passport and financial documents belonging to Rancho Cordova residents. Two suspects were arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, and the recovered mail was returned to its rightful owners.
