Rancho Cordova Business Makes and Donates Masks and Shields
Dream Arcades, a Rancho Cordova business, has recently gone from making custom home arcade games to making face masks and shields. Owners Mike and Michelle have donated them to local businesses, healthcare workers and first responders in an effort to help stop the spread of COVID-19 . RCPD Officer Assists Couple
Recently while on patrol, RCPD Officer Sou Saephan noticed a couple standing next to their vehicle with their hood up. Officer Saephan, in addition to being an officer, is a certified, trained mechanic. He stopped to help and was able to tighten a loose belt and get the vehicle running and back on the road in just a few minutes.   Learn more.
Fireworks Safety Tips
The City of Rancho Cordova, Rancho Cordova Police Department, and Sacramento Metro Fire District encourage residents to be safe when using fireworks this 4th of July season. All legal fireworks in California are called Safe and Sane Fireworks and have the State Fire Marshal's seal. In Rancho Cordova, use of fireworks is allowed between noon on June 28, 2020 through 10 PM on July 4, 2020. Safe and Sane Fireworks may be sold only during this time period. Learn more.
Keeping Pets Safe and Comfortable
July 3rd and 4th are two of the busiest nights of the year for the  City of Rancho Cordova's Animal Services team . Pets can become frightened by the loud sounds and unfamiliar sights during 4th of July festivities and may try to escape. College Promise Program Now Available to Veterans
The College Promise Program is available to 2020 high school graduates who live in Rancho Cordova, but is now being expanded to provide tuition for eligible Rancho Cordova Veterans, as well as to students who have completed their first year of college through the Promise Program in 2019-20.  Learn more.
Highway 50 and Zinfandel Drive Interchange Improvements
Construction at Highway 50 and Zinfandel Drive should be substantially complete this month. This project adds an additional lane on Zinfandel Drive over Highway 50, modifies the highway entrance and exit ramps, adds bicycle lanes, modifies traffic signals and includes landscaping and fencing. Folsom Boulevard Beautification and Enhancement Project
The final phase of the Folsom Boulevard Beautification and Enhancement Project continues. This phase will add improved sidewalks, landscaping and safety features along Folsom Boulevard from Bradshaw Road to Horn Road and Kilgore Road to Sunrise Boulevard. Learn more.
Sunrise Boulevard Rehabilitation Project
The Sunrise Boulevard Rehabilitation Project is now underway. This project will rehabilitate Sunrise Boulevard and will add new pavement and streetlights, landscaped medians, widened sidewalks, bike lanes and signal upgrades.   Learn more.
New Program: Cordova Childcare 
This year, Cordova Recreation & Park District (CRPD) will be offering Cordova Childcare at three locations: Hagan Community Center, Mather Sports Center and Neil Orchard Senior Activities Center. Learn more .
Community Pools and Spray Parks Begin Reopening 
On Thursday, June 18, CRPD community pools and spray parks began opening with some restrictions including physical distancing requirements and lowered capacities.
SmaRT Ride Updates
On June 15, Sacramento Regional Transit expanded the service zone for SmaRT Ride in Rancho Cordova west to Bradshaw Road and as far south as Old Placerville Road. The service also transitioned to corner-to-corner service. Learn more.
