Julie “Cookie” Toth, a longtime resident of El Paso, died at her home in 2018 after a brief illness. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Texas Woman's College in Denton in 1971 and began her nursing career at Hotel Dieu Hospital where she served as head nurse of a large surgical unit. She received her Master of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and went on to become a professor of nursing at El Paso Community College. Julie was highly respected by her many students and colleagues in the profession of Nursing. She enjoyed travel, reading mystery novels, and always held a special place in her heart for all animals .

We are so grateful to Julie and her fur baby, Addie Mae! This gift helps ensure that the vital programs of the Humane Society of El Paso will be here to meet the needs of our community animals.
