Common Failures that Lead to Violations:

  • Tree growth & excessive vegetation
  • Extensive trash
  • Eroded areas
  • Lack of signage
  • Missing or damaged grates

Regulatory bodies do not issue Notices of Violation (NOV) without cause, and if the issue is serious enough to warrant an NOV, an immediate and professional response is required.

Fortunately, a quick and comprehensive response can help you and your business limit — and in some cases, completely avoid — costly fines and fees. Our experts will assess the site, develop a plan and manage the NOV process to minimize environmental liability and prevent future non-compliance.

Case Study

Augusta GA |Vegetation Overgrowth Leads to NOV

This property received a Notice of Violation (NOV) because of the extreme overgrowth. As bushes, vines and invasive species took over the area, trash and standing water also began to accumulate. Mosquitos began to thrive in the area creating a health concern.

AQUALIS was called to remediate the NOV and started by cutting back the overgrowth. The outlet and rip rap was restored to full function, removing the standing water and mosquito habitat. Area upstream were also addressed to ensure the system adequately treated stormwater runoff.

If this system had been regularly maintained and inspected, the problems would have been identified before the municipality took action.
