Yoga Trainings with YOGAthletix
Yin Yoga September 2022 & Restorative Yoga January 2023
Calling all yoga teachers looking to continue their education and anyone who wants to enhance their personal yoga practice. Join Breanna (E-RYT 200, 500 hr and a Yoga Therapist) for an in-depth yin and/or restorative yoga teacher training with YOGAthletix. Both trainings are yoga alliance approved and will provide a deep understanding of the safe practice, philosophy, and benefits of these styles of yoga. Each training will also prepare attendees to teach yoga classes in these styles should they choose to.

Training Dates:
Both trainings will be a hybrid training of online and in person practice.

Yin Yoga
September 23-25, 2022 - Virtual via Zoom
September 30 - October 2, 2022- At YOGAthletix

Restorative Yoga
January 6-8, 2023 - Virtual via Zoom
January 13-15, 2023 - At YOGAthletix

Yin training: Topics covered in the 55 hour course include history, philosophy, and relevant anatomy for yin yoga. Attendees will spend a considerable amount of time learning how to teach the basic postures safely and confidently. Each student will have opportunities to practice and receive feedback on their teaching from Breanna (the lead instructor) and their peers. By the end of the training, every student will be equipped with the tools and knowledge to teach a public yin yoga class.

Restorative training: students will understand how the nervous system works and the relationship between stress and our health. With this understanding, we will look at how restorative yoga can be beneficial to everyone’s health and wellbeing. A considerable amount of time will be spent learning the shapes and practicing teaching. By the end of the course, each student will be equipped with the knowledge and techniques needed to teach a restorative practice safely and confidently or guide themselves through a practice.

Hi friends!

Are you planning on doing some spring cleaning?

Have donations but don’t know where to donate them ?

If we haven’t met before, I’m Sam- your friendly neighbourhood housing worker and fellow YOGAthetix-goer! I work with Fred Victor, a non-profit social service agency focused on supporting individuals experiencing homelessness or living below the poverty line.

My specific role as a Concurrent Disorders Case Manager with the Addiction Support Housing program sees me working in the community with individuals who are facing both mental health and substance use issues. I assist in finding housing, and provide long-term support in helping people keep their housing, in addition to working towards their goals of recovery, stability, and wellness.

Our clients are always in need of furniture or housewares, including but not limited to:
  • Kitchenware (cutlery, glassware, small appliances such as microwaves, can openers, etc)
  • Bedding & pillows
  • Electronics (cell phones, radios, television, DVD players, gaming systems)
  • Housewares (lamps, humidifiers, fans, A/C, decor in general)
  • Cleaning supplies (mops/Swiffer, vacuum, laundry detergent, cleaning products)
  • Pet supplies (food, dog toys, cat toys, grooming services)
  • Furniture *** please arrange this with me, as I solely rely on TTC for transit. We can arrange either someone to do a pick-up, or we can schedule a drop-off if you would like to do so.

You are more than welcome to contact me at [email protected] or at 514-588-5512 (please keep in mind this is my personal cell). If you are looking to connect someone to myself - especially someone you know who may need support themselves, they may contact me at 416-998-5460.

If you do not have any physical items to donate, but would love to support our cause financially - I am also a team captain in our fundraising efforts for Fred’s Walk! Fred’s Walk takes place on June 3rd where I will do a 10km walk in downtown Toronto to each of our Fred Victor sites to bring awareness and break down myths surrounding poverty and homelessness.
