Upcoming Event: Cancer Survivors Day

Mark your calendars! On June 7th, the Colorado Cancer Coalition is joining partners across the region to celebrate cancer survivors at Bear Creek Regional Park East, Colorado Springs.
The event runs from 8:30 to 11:00 AM and is free for everyone to attend. Expect a walk, raffle prizes, food, and good company. Wear purple!
This year, we're making a point to reach younger survivors. If you know a teen, young adult, or child who has been touched by a cancer diagnosis, please pass this along — Survivors Day is for every age!
Survivors, caregivers, family members, providers, advocates, and community organizations are all welcome. Come out, connect with others, and take a moment to recognize how much you've been through.

Last Call: Advisory Committee Applications Close Today
The Colorado Cancer Coalition is launching a new Advisory Committee to bring broader community voices into shaping CCC's work — and today is the last day to apply!
We're looking for passionate Coloradans with backgrounds in equity-focused work, rural health, cancer survivorship, healthcare, research, nonprofit leadership, public policy, and more. Early-career professionals and students are encouraged to apply — no prior Coalition experience needed.
Members will serve a two-year term, attending quarterly meetings and engaging in Coalition activities, with an expected commitment of about 2 hours per month.
Applications close today, June 2nd.

Join the Colorado Cancer Coalition next Tuesday, June 9th (10am–2pm) at Intermountain Health Saint Joseph Hospital for a hands-on community convening focused on implementation.
You'll work in small groups aligned with a specific area of the cancer continuum — prevention, screening and early detection, diagnosis and treatment, or survivorship and well-being — to identify concrete commitments your organization can take on over the next 6–12 months. Lunch provided!
We'd especially love to see more folks working in prevention and diagnosis & treatment at the table — if that's your space, we want you there!

Job Opening: Denver Health Mobile Unit
Denver Health is hiring for a Mobile Mammography Technologist. This position will support the mobile mammography unit.
This position will perform screening and diagnostic mammograms at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical imaging procedures that entail application of ionizing radiation; therefore, prudent judgment, strong technical skills, and a commitment to patient safety are considered requisite professional characteristics for individuals assuming the position as a mammography technologist. Another secondary component of this job involves assisting the radiologist in performing interventional breast procedures and breast ultrasound examinations in order to contribute to a diagnosis.

Provider Survey: Breast Health Risk Assessment and Disability-Inclusive Care
The survey is part of a public health initiative focused on improving equitable breast cancer screening and shared decision-making for women with disabilities. The project is supported through the 2025 Mary Pittman Prize Award and is being conducted collaboratively by CAMI Health and the Center on Disability. The study has IRB approval through the Public Health Institute (IRB #I26-010 | Category 2 Exempt Approval).
They are seeking input from PCPs, OB-GYNs, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants/associates regarding breast cancer risk assessment, screening guidance, and implementation challenges in clinical practice. Findings will inform future training and public health implementation efforts.
The survey is voluntary, confidential, and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.

June Policy Webinar: Innovations in Cancer Care Through the Ages
The 2026 NCCN Policy Summit Webinar: Innovations in Cancer Care Through the Ages will provide an opportunity for a varied group of stakeholders including patients, providers, payers, patient advocacy organizations, and industry to thoughtfully explore diverse perspectives regarding how key innovations in cancer therapies and treatment modalities have led to the modern oncology care paradigm, along with the importance of maintaining an innovative ecosystem to benefit future generations of people impacted by cancer. Key summit themes will include a focus on past successes realized through a collaborative, supportive research environment, areas of promise for future innovations in cancer care, how the current clinical research ecosystem is structured, and the financial and policy implications therein. Additional topics may include the importance of clinical trials in the development of novel therapies, challenges and opportunities across the practice and policy landscape, best practices and innovative partnerships, and opportunities to strengthen the cancer treatment innovation pipeline.
