Did you know that there are 2 ways you can help with our supervised visitation program?
With no additional training, you can be a volunteer who transports kids to and from their visit at the CASA office. If you have an extra 1/2 hour here or there, you could be a HUGE help by picking children up at their placement and being their fun ride to their visit. We provide the car seats and reimbursement for gas, and will take care of notification to caregivers.
With just a 2 hour training, you can be one of our visitation specialists. CASA visitation specialists monitor a visit between bio parents and their children, and submit notes to the Visitation Program Supervisor, Brittany. No court report, and no commitment beyond a 2 hour weekly shift, usually with the same family - at the CASA office in Santa Maria!
We urgently need 8 more volunteers to supervise visits and a few transport volunteers. Please attend a Lunch and Learn meeting June 13 at noon at the CASA office - RSVP to
Kim@sbcasa.org - to save your space and reserve your lunch. Hear from volunteers who are currently doing visits and learn about both opportunities. We need your help to continue to grow this new program!
