SCV Water is now accepting applications for its 2026 Water Academy, a free educational program designed to give Santa Clarita Valley residents an inside look at the people, infrastructure, and planning efforts that keep water flowing throughout the community.
The four-session program offers participants a unique opportunity to connect with water industry professionals, tour critical facilities, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and innovations shaping the future of water in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Participants will explore topics including:
· SCV Water's History and Governance
· Water Infrastructure and System Operations
· Local and Imported Water Supplies
· Water Conservation and Sustainability
· Water Quality and Treatment
· Customer Service and Financial Stewardship
· Emerging Water Challenges and Solutions, including PFAS Treatment
As part of the program, attendees will also tour the E.G. "Jerry" Gladbach Water Treatment Plant and SCV Water well facilities, offering behind-the-scenes looks at the systems that support the region's water supply.
2026 Session Schedule
Wednesdays, September 9, 16 & 23 – 5 to 8 p.m.
Saturday, September 26 – 8:30 to 11 a.m.
Registration Information
The Water Academy is free to attend and includes light meals during evening sessions. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and either live or work within the SCV Water service area.
Space is limited. Interested community members are encouraged to apply by August 25, 2026.
