Well Traveled Recap
Well Traveled, a 12-week physical activity and healthy behavior program, wrapped up at the end of April. Over 400 CWRU employees chose to make their health a priority and challenge themselves to move more, practice self-compassion, and intentionally appreciate differences.
Participants showed impressive progress along the way, and we are very proud of their dedication and effort. Congratulations to all who participated! Here are a few statistics:
- As a university, our final average daily step count was 9,691 - fantastic!
- Weatherhead School of Management ended the challenge with the highest step average with 13,108 daily steps.
- The College of Arts and Sciences earned the highest average score on the leaderboard.
- 41 employees won a trunk organizer and LED safety walking wand via a prize raffle.

Gratitude Month Recap
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.” - Melody Beattie
In our newsletter last month, we encouraged our community to practice and celebrate gratitude. We included a link to a video from the April 2019 Gratitude at CWRU event, sponsored a book raffle for two copies of "Thank You Very Much: Gratitude Strategies to Create a Workplace Culture that ROCKS!" by Lisa Ryan (winners have been notified), and invited faculty and staff to share messages of gratitude via an online Gratitude Graffiti Board. The results of our shared art can be seen in a screenshot below. For a closer look, or to add your own sentiment of gratitude, visit the Gratitude Graffiti Board.
The Wellness team is grateful for all of you and your continued engagement in programs that support a culture of well-being. Our employees make CWRU a terrific place to work!
