Please read this message from Sydney Bennett:
This summer, I have the honor of attending this year’s session of Keystone Girls’ State, and the 724 Legion Auxiliary Unit has generously agreed to sponsor me. Keystone Girls’ State is a program held at Shippensburg University to provide girls the opportunity to learn how governments and businesses function while gaining leadership experiences. The program also emphasizes service. One of the four projects is a collection for veterans in need. As someone who hopes to serve my country someday in the near future, this cause caught my attention. What if this personal service project turned into a community project? So, I ask that you think of those who have served us and now need us to serve them.
In continued celebration of Memorial Day and recognition of veterans, the library will collect the following items for Coatesville Veterans Hospital through Friday, June 17th:
Boxer briefs - L, XL
T-shirts - L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL

Sweatshirts - all sizes
Hooded sweatshirts - L, XL, 2XL

It's That Time Again: Lottery Calendars! | |
We have individual lottery calendars available for sale at the main desk through Wednesday, August 31st, while supplies last.
Just $10 each!
We accept cash/check/credit cards.
How the Lottery Calendar Works
The chances for winning are based on the Pick-3 Pennsylvania Lottery (Evening), straight, not boxed, throughout September 2021. Each day a number is drawn, and if that number calendar has been purchased, the buyer will be a winner. The payout is determined by the dollar amount shown on the calendar for that day. (For example, Atticus Finch purchased calendar #123, and on September 28 the Pick-3 Pennsylvania number drawn is #123, then Atticus wins the amount appearing on his calendar for that day. If calendar #123 was never purchased, then there is no payout for that day.) Winners will have checks mailed to the address written on the ticket stub within 30 days of winning.

"Special Guest" storytime
with Nettie Neville,
author of Berries for Hedgehog
Wednesday, August 10th
10:30am
Neville is a children’s librarian, animal lover, and ukulele player. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two children, and many pets. She’s always wanted to write a children’s book and now she’s really done it! It was so much fun, she might just write another…
| | |
About the book:
A hungry hedgehog sets out in unfamiliar woods, determined to get his paws on some ripe berries. Along the way, he encounters a variety of scrappy creatures. Being uncommonly sensible, he manages to mend feuds, solve dilemmas, and yes, find those luscious berries. It doesn’t hurt that he also wears an exceedingly fetching hat and is prone to breaking into song. Written by a children’s librarian, Berries for Hedgehog will charm and entertain readers with a playful story that is at its heart about kindness, generosity, and building community.
