Amy and Dan* had been working with ICCF to move into a tiny home at Hope Village. The final approval for the home came at a particularly tragic moment in their lives. Their daughter had just suffered a fatal heart attack. Amy and Dan were referred to VIS for help making the move a reality. VIS staff member David took the call and rallied the support of six local churches to serve these neighbors during their time of grief. David even helped them find a bed- not a surprise because David ALWAYS does more than is expected! "The significance of their new home is more than just bricks and mortar. It represents a new start for them," shared David.
At the end of June, David will be retiring from his Casework Connections role at Volunteers In Service. David chose to spend ten of his retirement years tirelessly serving at VIS. We are a stronger, more vibrant, and healthier ministry because of the expertise, years of experience, rock-solid faith, (bad Dad jokes), and relentless servant-heart David chose to share with Volunteers In Service and the church in Kent County. "Well done, good and faithful servant!" It's been our honor to serve our Savior alongside you, David! Thank you for your gift of service!
