The LGBTQ+ population is woven throughout the Crisis Center as employees, board members, donors, community ambassadors, volunteers, and clients. We are proud to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community this month - and always!



Healing from PTSD

Barb was originally referred to the Crisis Center from the University of South Florida’s Victim Advocacy Program after she was sexually assaulted by her boyfriend. In the months following her assault, Barb experienced intrusive thoughts, avoidance, anxiety, insomnia, and nightmares consistent with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Her grades began to slip because she struggled to focus and was anxious to be around crowds on campus. Ultimately, Barb made the difficult decision to take a semester off from school to attend trauma therapy and focus on moving on from what had happened to her.

Continuing Our Partnership with the

Tampa Bay Rays and Rowdies!

The Crisis Center was hosted by the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday, May 18th and by the Tampa Rays Rays on Wednesday, May 29th as part of Mental Health Awareness Month. The teams provided donations to support our mental health services throughout the community.
