The Library is pleased to announce that its Renovation and Expansion Project has now entered its final stage of interior renovations! In order for construction to progress, the Library will transition operations to a new location within the building. Due to construction running smoothly, the Library has entered this phase a bit sooner than anticipated!

In order to accommodate construction work, the Library’s full collection has now been placed in storage and will not be accessible. Browsing is expected to resume in mid-July. In the meantime, Library staff are more than happy to assist patrons with placing holds on other library’s materials within the Mid-Hudson Library System to have sent to the Marlboro Free Library for pickup. 

At this time, the Library’s current modified hours will not be affected until mid-June. However, patrons are encouraged to continue checking the Library’s website for updates, as construction activity may occasionally require additional temporary schedule changes or modified hours for a day or two prior to that time.

• Printing, scanning, faxing, and copying services 
• Passport and notary services by appointment only 
• 1,000 Books Project bags 
• New books 
• Hold pickup and returns 
• Very limited selection for browsing of popular materials.

The Library is anticipating a temporary closure in mid-June for a brief period to allow for furniture installation, bringing the collection back onsite, and final project work.



Additional details, including confirmed dates and updated service information, will be shared as soon as the construction schedule is finalized. We appreciate the community’s patience, flexibility, and continued support as we move closer to completing this exciting project! We’re almost there!

Join us for a fun, low-stakes 1,000-piece puzzle competition! This event welcomes puzzlers of all experience levels. Teams will race to complete an identical 1,000-piece puzzle in a relaxed atmosphere. No pressure, just good company, a great challenge, the joy of puzzling together and prizes for the first 3 teams to finish!

Open to ages 18+ with teams of 2-6 players. 

Registration required. Each team must designate a team captain to register all members (6 people max per team).

Welcome back Alex Prizgintas, author, musician, historian, and preservationist for a special cello concert celebrating America! Songs include key hymns, noble anthems of patriotism, and tunes of solidarity and resistance that celebrate our nation.

As construction at the Library continues, all of our youth programs will be held at the Town of Marlborough Community Center, located at 1520 Route 9W, Marlboro, NY 12542.

Come move as a family with a certified yoga instructor from Mindful Yoga with Liz Studio. No previous yoga experience necessary. Bring your yoga mat, blanket or towel, and a water bottle.

The Library and the Ulster County Fair and Agricultural Society invite kids to participate in the Read and Win Program! Students in grades Pre K - 8 who complete the program between April 6th and June 14th, 2026 will receive free admission to the Ulster County Fair and more! Ask for materials at the circulation desk. 

Please note: The Library will be closed on Friday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.
