Winning the fight
The Democrats call themselves "Progressives" for a reason: The party "progresses" constantly, sometimes in big leaps, sometimes in inches - but always progressing. For over 100 years starting with President Wilson, it's been an inexorable move to take over academia, the courts and the media - and they've almost succeeded.
Here's a great question to ask any Democrat you know: "What do you envision the world will look like if all your policy goals are achieved? "Many clueless Dems will answer "Utopia" when the real result will be "communism." But Democrat leaders are not clueless - they know what they're progressing toward: Power and control forever.
Donald Trump FIGHTS
That's why Americans elected Donald Trump. He has the courage to fight against this frightening agenda. He understands that we can no longer afford the polite, collegial compromises with progressivism that have been the hallmark of the Republican party ever since GW Bush.
Politics is now a full contact sport The Democrat team is united - just listen to them all spew the same talking points and vote en masse with few defections. Our team has to be willing to fight and win. Party discipline is essential. "Rugged individuals" or "mavericks" in our party hurt our ability to act. Our President is working hard to get us all on one team. Look at some of the Republicans who will not be senators in 2027: Mitch McConnell, Bill Cassidy, Thom Tillis and John Cornyn - all of whom have bucked against the America First agenda in one way or another. Note also the exit of Rep. Thomas Massie and the ousting of weak Republicans in Indiana who voted not to redistrict.
Unite on the right
Let's stand together here in Moore County and be part of a united team. From the school board and commissioners to judges and state and national offices, we must focus on beating those "progressives" and winning for America.

The real roots of freedom
As we celebrate our country’s 250th anniversary of freedom, we should take a look back at our real roots of freedom.
On December 21, 1620, a group of weary people, led by William Bradford, waded ashore to a place they considered “New Israel.” They even came within one vote of adopting Hebrew as the official language of this new Plymouth Colony. Their official document was called the Mayflower Compact, which established self- government and rule of law among the settlers. While not a constitution, it was a provisional agreement that adapted Puritan church covenant principles to a civil context, laying the foundation for Godly self government and democratic principles in America.

There are important bills being considered in Congress and in the NC State House which deserve "YES" votes. Let's tell our representatives how we feel.
State law:
#1: NC Senate Bill 801: "Protect Special Ops Forces / No Doxing"
This protects Special Operations members and their families from targeted retaliation by restricting public access to personnel records and penalizing malicious online exposure. Here's the full information on it.
Federal law:
#2: S. 3651 - "Special Operators Protection Act" and H.R. 7136 - "Special Operators Protection Act" These bills are similar to the one in the NC Senate. See this for more info and directions on what to do.
#3: H.R. 1004, the “Love Lives on Act of 2025" and S. 410, the “Love Lives on Act of 2025”
This Act allows surviving spouses of fallen service members, many with young
children, to remarry at any age without losing earned military survivor and veterans' benefits. Rep. Richard Hudson is a key sponsor of this Act in the House.

As we do every year on Memorial Day, MRW joined members of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 966 and other dignitaries to pay tribute to the heroes who died for our country in battle. The ceremony took place at the Moore County Veterans Memorial in Carthage.

| | July 4th parades - you're invited! | | |
The big America250 celebration is close at hand - and MRW will be joining the Moore County GOP at two different parades on Saturday, July 4:
Pinehurst, 10:00 a.m.
The Pinehurst parade does not allow floats - but it does allow decorated golf carts as long as they're pre-registered. If you'd like to have a cart in our section of the parade, contact Annette Miller. She will help you get registered and provide parade decorations if you need them.
We also want walkers for the parade. We'll be handing out flags to children along the route - show our patriotic spirit by participating!
Carthage, 11:00 a.m.
Carthage does allows floats, and the Moore County Republican Party will have a float in this parade. Come out and walk along to make this parade as festive as possible!
More information about both these parades will be forthcoming as we get closer to July 4th - but put them on your calendar!

Judy Luse
It is with heavy hearts that we tell you one of our long-time members, Judy Luse, died on May 11, 2026 at age 77. Judy was a talented writer and public relations professional who founded her own PR firm. For several years, she was the editor of the MRW News and a very active participant in MRW doings.
Her full obituary can be found here.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public service, viewing or memorial to mark her passing. "Love your family, help someone in need, tell a friend you love them, and pray for our country."
How fitting.

Debra Spelman
We are saddened to announce that Debra Spelman passed away on March 20.
Deb was a long-time member of MRW until 2024, when she dropped out due to illness. In 2018, Deb served as co-chair of the Armed Forces Committee, and she remained active in our club until she could not do it any longer.
You can read her obituary here. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
