Our 4th Save of Christmas

Daisy, a gentle 15-year-old cream-colored tabby, came to us after her beloved owner passed away. Her person’s family cared deeply about her—they knew she had been adored, and they wanted to make sure she continued to be. They took her in for a short time, but they hoped she could find a home where someone would cherish her the way she’d always been cherished. When they found our guardianship program, they reached out with relief, knowing Daisy would be safe and loved.

When Daisy arrived at Hannah’s House, she settled in close to our Executive Director, Janet. Daisy was a talker, and she had been an only cat all her life, so she sometimes voiced her opinions to the other cats—but she never meant harm. And at night, she curled up next to Janet to sleep. It was gentle, steady proof: Daisy still had so much love to give.

We knew she needed someone to share that love with—a person to be hers. After some time, that someone arrived. A senior, homebound and looking for companionship, met Daisy through our Senior Cats for Senior Laps program. The connection was immediate and tender.

Today, Daisy is settled into her new home. She spends her afternoons in a sunny window seat, watching the world outside, and naps in her favorite cushioned chair close to her new person.

Daisy has found her person again. And they have found comfort in each other.

Each December, we love to share the memorable and touching stories of cats we saved during the year. This Holiday Season, Daisy is one of our 12 Saves of Christmas—one of the lives your kindness has changed forever.

As we continue to care for cats like Daisy, we humbly ask for your support. Your contribution, whether through our wishlist or as a tax-deductible gift, allows us to provide life-saving care and love to the senior cats in our care.
