Our 3rd Save of Christmas

Tailless, a delicate 15-year-old with a spark of sass, came to June’s with her sister, Jersey, and their friend Bruce after their owner passed away. Losing a caregiver is always a dangerous moment for senior cats, but for cats like Tailless—those with unique medical needs—it can be life-threatening. Born without a tail, she faced ongoing health challenges that would have made her nearly unadoptable in a shelter. Seniors with medical needs are often the first to be overlooked and the first to run out of time.

But Tailless didn’t spend her final months in a shelter cage. She came to June’s Senior Cat Rescue, where she was safe, loved, and truly seen.

Despite her medical issues, Tailless had a bold personality and never hesitated to voice her opinions. She’d give a firm “no thank you” to anything she didn’t approve of—but when she chose to share her sweetness, she gave it generously. She loved sunbeams, soft blankets, and being near her sister. Her foster home gave her the quiet comfort she deserved, and she returned that love in her own special, Tailless way.

In October, her health issues became more than her little body could bear, and we helped her cross the rainbow bridge with peace and dignity. Letting her go was heartbreaking—but we’re grateful knowing she spent her final months surrounded by warmth, softness, and care. She did not die alone. She did not die afraid. She died loved.

This Holiday Season, Tailless is one of our 12 Saves of Christmas—a reminder that every senior cat deserves comfort, dignity, and a gentle ending.

Will you make a gift today in Tailless’s honor, to ensure that other vulnerable senior cats have a safe, loving place to spend their final years—or even their final months? Your kindness makes endings like hers full of peace instead of fear.
