Jersey, a sweet and social 15-year-old, arrived at June’s with her sister, Tailless, and their friend Bruce after their owner passed away. For senior cats, this moment can be perilous. Grieving family members often assume a shelter is the best place for a loved one’s pets—but in reality, shelters are overwhelming for older cats, and adopters almost always choose kittens first. Senior cats like Jersey quietly wait… and too often, they run out of time.
But at June’s, Jersey’s story didn’t end there.
This is exactly why we exist: to give senior cats who’ve lost their homes a safe haven, a soft place to land, and a second chance at comfort and love. Cats like Jersey never have to fear the streets, a stressful shelter cage, or an unnecessary euthanasia simply because of their age.
