Our 5th Save of Christmas

On the Fifth Save of Christmas, our true love gave to us…19-year-old Betsy. Betsy was surrendered to the shelter along with Autumn and Bootsie. Betsy is the perfect blueprint for the sweet and spicy nature of cats. She’s an absolute sweetheart with a thundery purr but try to do something she doesn’t approve of, and she’ll leave you wondering how a tiny, old cat can be SO strong! Though she might appear a bit frail—don’t let her fool you!

Betsy is overall quite healthy for her age, though she has been treated for dry eyes, a sinus infection, and really clogged ears. The love and care she’s received since coming to JSCR has given her a new lease on life. She’s even been teaching the other cats how to respect their elders. Did we mention the spice?

Her zest for life shines through in every interaction, and her bright eyes tell the story of a cat who still has plenty of adventures left in her. Betsy is always happy for pets and occasionally even shares her cozy bed with Bootsie. Her bright spirit reminds us so much of Autumn. We’re so grateful for the supporters who make it possible for us to give senior cats like Betsy the retirement they deserve.

As we care for Betsy and her fellow senior kitties, we always have needs. The kitties would love gifts from our wishlists—even gift cards from Amazon, Chewy, Petco, or Long Leash on Life are always appreciated, as they allow us to get what we need whenever we need it. These items make all the difference in ensuring our senior cats have everything they need for a happy, comfortable life. If you’re able to support Betsy and other seniors in our care, we’d be so grateful. Thank you for being part of our community and helping us give sweet seniors like Betsy the care they deserve!
