Our 7th Save of Christmas

For our seventh Save of Christmas, we bring you our most distinguished gentleman, Hummer. At 19 years old, Hummer may be a senior, but he’s still the epitome of charm and elegance—living up to every bit of his tuxedo attire. When his beloved owner passed away, Hummer's family reached out to JSCR for help, knowing they couldn't care for him due to their own pets not being cat-friendly. After sharing his story on social media, Megan and Jason stepped forward, eager to welcome Hummer into their lives as his Forever Fosters.

Hummer quickly made himself at home, winning over his new kitty siblings with his gentle nature. His ability to communicate his needs—whether it’s waiting for his heating pad to be turned back on, batting at the blinds for a better view of the outside world, or reminding his humans when mealtime is approaching—has brought much joy to his new family. Hummer’s favorite things include sitting in Megan's lap and "yelling" at the birds and squirrels outside. No trespassing allowed!

Though Hummer is clearly enjoying his golden years, his health requires extra care. He has kidney disease and is on special food to help manage this condition. Megan and Jason have embraced this challenge with love and dedication, ensuring he stays as comfortable and healthy as possible.

Hummer’s story is a beautiful reminder of the immeasurable impact fosters have. Without Megan and Jason's willingness to open their hearts and home, Hummer's future might have looked quite different. We are so grateful to all our fosters for giving JSCR seniors the best golden years!
