It's National Pet Dental Health Month!

February is National Pet Dental Health Month! 🦷 Let’s Talk Teeth!

Just like us, cats need healthy teeth for a happy life! But did you know that dental health is often overlooked for our feline friends? We see so many cats coming into our care in need of serious dental surgery to help them feel comfortable and enjoy life again. This is especially true for our senior cats, who often suffer from painful dental issues that can impact everything from their ability to eat to their overall well-being.

We know you love cute kitty teeth as much as we do, but for senior cats, dental health can truly be a matter of life and death. Without proper care, dental problems can lead to chronic pain, repeated infections, and weight loss from the inability to eat. Many of our older kitties need anesthesia and often multiple tooth extractions, which can cost anywhere from $500 to $1,500 per procedure. It’s a significant expense, but it’s essential for their comfort, happiness, and health!

Lily getting her teeth checked at the vet

Enter Lily—a sweet 10-year-old girl who came to us from the Valencia County Shelter. Lily’s been dealing with some mouth pain, and it's making it hard for her to enjoy her food (and what is life without food, right?!). After a recent vet visit, we found she needs dental work to relieve her discomfort and get her back to her cheerful self. Her dental is estimated to cost anywhere from $896 to $1475! But after experiencing homelessness, Lily deserves to live her golden years pain-free and full of joy!

But we can’t do it without you. With your help, we can give Lily, and many other senior cats, the dental care they need to live life to the fullest.

Last year, we set a goal of $5,500 to fund dental procedures for our senior cats—and we did it! Thanks to your generosity, many cats received the dental surgeries they needed to feel better and live their best lives. This year, we’re aiming even higher with a goal of $6,500. With your support, we can ensure even more seniors get the dental care they deserve.

Every little bit counts—whether it’s a small contribution or a larger one, every dollar helps provide a better, more comfortable life for these deserving kitties.

🦷 Donate today to help us reach our $6,500 goal! 🦷

Thank you for your ongoing compassion and support. You’re helping us give these cats a brighter, healthier future—one smile at a time!

Don’t forget, to take a moment and talk with your vet about your cat’s dental care too. 🦷 They will thank you for it!
