Guess Who's Getting Older

June’s Senior Cat Rescue turns 11 years old this month!! We are officially senior-cat aged. We don’t know about you, but we still feel like kittens. Good thing too because we still have lots of work to do. In the past 11 years, you helped us give over 700 cats and kittens their happily-ever-after. That’s 700 cats who got to live the life they always deserved, with full bellies, naps in warm sunshine, chin scratches, playful hearts, and of course, human servants to attend to their every need. We couldn’t do this work without you. You are the heart and soul of this rescue.

We couldn’t think of a better way to share this milestone with you than to tell you about one of the first cats you helped and, of course, to help more cats. Let the birthday festivities begin...

Hunny Bunny's "Rescu-versary"

It wouldn’t be a birthday party without cake, or at least something sweet, so it’s only fitting we talk about Hunny Bunny. Hunny Bunny came to June’s back in 2013, our first year of operation. The shelter said she was very shy and thought she was about 11 years old. Imagine our surprise when we took her to the vet and found she was really only three! The shelter was right about her being shy, though. She took a while to come out of her shell, but when she did, she revealed her Hunny Bunny superpower.

As a cat lover, you know how “thrilled” cats are about new environments (not!), and with senior cats, big transitions are especially “delightful.” This is where Hunny Bunny showcases her superpower. She absolutely loves to welcome new cats to June’s. She reaches past the newcomers’ stress and fear with a special tenderness, that only Hunny Bunny can embody. She soothes them, and they settle into their new lives more easily because of her.

It quickly became clear that despite her young age, Hunny Bunny had a big mission in life. She was meant to spend her days comforting senior cats at June’s. Her superpower is a treasure that has helped countless cats transition into their new lives. She is now 14 years old and a senior herself, but she doesn’t let that stop her from her welcoming duties. We love little Hunny Bunny and could never thank her enough for the gift she has given to so many.

Birthday Wishes

Can you think of a better birthday gift than saving cats? We can’t either!

That's why our birthday wish is to keep Hunny Bunny busy with her welcoming business for years to come. To do that we need your help. Your donations enable us to save needy senior kitties and provide them the happy lives they deserve.

Will you help us make this birthday wish come true?
